  1. The neighborhood kids had a great day. The Soi Dogs stayed at home and the Chickens that wander around thought “Fuck this the bugs can come to me today “.

  2. ^^^ I always find it amusing when based on one person's great experience with a business, any others that report a negative experience are discounted and their reports classified as "myths". A data point of one is statistically irrelevant.

  4. Greetings Monkeywatchers, showaddy crap to another month, and welcome to more tales from the world’s favourite building site. Rock on. A tourist leaving a local beer garden the other week was somewhat surprised to notice that his shorts had unexpectedly caught fire as he left the premises. It seems that a rather careless Thai workman had been cutting through some metal and had sprayed the walkway with a shower of sparks, some of which had ignited the nether garments of the passing tourist. Having been refused compensation by the workman, the hapless tourist went to the police station to m

  6. I've had both good and bad experiences booking through agents, but unfortunately the last issue I had with an agent with regards to dealing with a refund for a flight cancelled by an airline and moved the booking to another totally unsuitable flight left a sour taste.... The agent was of no help in chasing up the refund, so never got the refund. Dealing directly with airlines I've never had a problem that hasn't been sorted, including refunds and flight changes.

  7. A 17-year-old boy who works part-time at Pizza Hut drives up to park in front of the house in a beautiful Porsche. Naturally, his parents know that there’s no way he earned enough with his after-school job to buy such a car. “Where did you get that car?” his mom and dad screamed in shock. “I bought it today,” replied the teen calmly. “With what money young man?” his mom demands. “We know how much a Porsche costs and you cannot afford it!” “Well, it’s used and I got a good deal” says the boy, “This on

  9. Unfortunately it appears gone are the days when the water madness pretty much ended shortly after sunset, with the exception being the 18th and 19th. Last night the madness on Buakhao was still going strong at 8pm. That's when I saw the writing in the wet pavement that it wasn't going to end so left to find a safe, dry haven at King's Club. I've always thought if a group of bar owners in one area got together and agreed to create a water free zone during the days leading up to the 19th, they would find themselves overwhelmed with customers.

  14. Related to the thread. 2 years ago I got referred to local hospital in UK as a brown mark/mole had appeared on face (I heavily stay in the sun I freely acknowledge) Dr wasnt happy so within 4 days (fair play NHS) i'm up the skin clinic. Intially Dr says not quite sure let me call in senior consultant Duly turns up 20 minutes later gets his magnifying glass out and says nahh its ok its not melanoma but "keep an eye on it any changes let us know" Whilst it looked quite prominent (to me) nobody has ever commented over it including 2 guys on this forum Fast forward to 4 d

  16. Many of the owners I know around town have shut up shop and gone away until after the madness has finished. I personally have no issue with a bit of water throwing but what I cannot accept is the fcuking ferangs with those blue water cannon type guns which are definitely a danger to anyone on a motorcycle. I’m tucked away up north at our house and the kids are playing water and one Thai wanted to plastered me with powder I politely said no thank you and off he toddled which is how it should be. If I was in Pattaya I’m fairly sure it would have resulted in violence !!!

  17. I'm in the Netherlands not the UK.The reviews are horrendous, some of the sites are very dodgy.I did use one site for years "vliegwinkel" nl,even when they were a bucket shop on the Rokin in Amsterdam,I never had a problem with them.I just put my dates into Skyscanner and they come up with a list of providers and the cheap ones come with a long list of grievances, some are self inflicted like spelling the name wrong like, mike instead of Michael.

  20. So arrived in Udon Thani on Monday and got the new car and bike licences today. Monday: Medical certificates (200 baht, 100 baht each), 30 minutes Tuesday: Residence certificates (1000 bbaht, 500 baht each) 30 minutes Wednesday: Driver's licences (760 baht, car 505 baht and motor bike 255 baht) 90 minutes. This would have only taken 30 minutes as well but the licences referenced my old passport and not my new one. I didn't have my old passport or a photo of it so my mum had to go around to my house in Australia and take a photo of the old passport which they then accepted.

  22. I have booked for my next trip 2 January 2025 till 1 March 2025.Direct with EVA from Amsterdam,€1200.Standard economy, choice of seat 23kg luggage. Premium economy for the return trip,it's over 13 hours so the better seat and service are appreciated.Cleaned out the old Eva tickets,a 2019 ticket same dates cost € 636. Looking on Skyscanner there are no cheap flights to be had, none! Because Eva and KLM are the only direct flights from Schiphol and lack of deals I decided to get it while it's a price I am willing to pay. The flights are usually crammed full mostly with older folks like me,as

I have heard a lot of great things about Emirates and at this price and local to me, Stanstead, I can at last afford to try it out for myself. The savings in time and travel costs to Gatwick or LHR make it a good price and a great opportunity. I hope this might help anyone looking
