  1. The neighborhood kids had a great day. The Soi Dogs stayed at home and the Chickens that wander around thought “Fuck this the bugs can come to me today “.

  3. I've had both good and bad experiences booking through agents, but unfortunately the last issue I had with an agent with regards to dealing with a refund for a flight cancelled by an airline and moved the booking to another totally unsuitable flight left a sour taste.... The agent was of no help in chasing up the refund, so never got the refund. Dealing directly with airlines I've never had a problem that hasn't been sorted, including refunds and flight changes.

  4. A 17-year-old boy who works part-time at Pizza Hut drives up to park in front of the house in a beautiful Porsche. Naturally, his parents know that there’s no way he earned enough with his after-school job to buy such a car. “Where did you get that car?” his mom and dad screamed in shock. “I bought it today,” replied the teen calmly. “With what money young man?” his mom demands. “We know how much a Porsche costs and you cannot afford it!” “Well, it’s used and I got a good deal” says the boy, “This on

  6. Unfortunately it appears gone are the days when the water madness pretty much ended shortly after sunset, with the exception being the 18th and 19th. Last night the madness on Buakhao was still going strong at 8pm. That's when I saw the writing in the wet pavement that it wasn't going to end so left to find a safe, dry haven at King's Club. I've always thought if a group of bar owners in one area got together and agreed to create a water free zone during the days leading up to the 19th, they would find themselves overwhelmed with customers.

  7. Related to the thread. 2 years ago I got referred to local hospital in UK as a brown mark/mole had appeared on face (I heavily stay in the sun I freely acknowledge) Dr wasnt happy so within 4 days (fair play NHS) i'm up the skin clinic. Intially Dr says not quite sure let me call in senior consultant Duly turns up 20 minutes later gets his magnifying glass out and says nahh its ok its not melanoma but "keep an eye on it any changes let us know" Whilst it looked quite prominent (to me) nobody has ever commented over it including 2 guys on this forum Fast forward to 4 d

  9. Many of the owners I know around town have shut up shop and gone away until after the madness has finished. I personally have no issue with a bit of water throwing but what I cannot accept is the fcuking ferangs with those blue water cannon type guns which are definitely a danger to anyone on a motorcycle. I’m tucked away up north at our house and the kids are playing water and one Thai wanted to plastered me with powder I politely said no thank you and off he toddled which is how it should be. If I was in Pattaya I’m fairly sure it would have resulted in violence !!!

  10. I searched and there is nothing recent. Many posts go back as far as 2005, which predates my time in Jomtien long ago. Anyone have an opinion or heard anything recently? Are there better options in that price range? Ideally,I'd like to stay between 2nd Rd. and Beach Rd. Thanks

  13. Have you looked at the hotels on Soi 10? There is a good selection and they are newer than the Flippers. Likely to be less bar noise as well. I haven't stayed in any of them but would have a look if I wanted to stay in that area.

  14. Good question. Like many other I have a dozen or so Lonely Planet books. Since Covid however I think that these are probably useless. Like you, I find so much information on YouTube predates Covid and is also useless. The more reviews here, the better for everyone. Sent from my CPH1941 using Tapatalk

  15. I've been looking at one way tickets out start of October time which apart from Air India who have some promotion on via Delhi and Bombay on their new Dreamliners and A350's (around £310) are roughly the same as I paid October 2023 for one way around £380 to £400.....I would expect that to drop nearer the time though But its the round trip prices that have dropped....I was going to put uploads of screenshots but instead with list a few returning end of March 2025 Eva the cheapest I've seen for a long time £664 Singapore at £605 and I saw fairly recently those at £560.....standar

  16. What I saw on booking.com was €1100 or about 42,000 baht for 29 nights january 3 till March 1.with breakfast though.flipper house was €1564. They both get a 7.8 rating considered good.not sure I would like to stay a month in them, but if it's for a short stay I would be ok with the lodge.

  17. I have certainly change my attitude to sun bathing in my later years.... actually I think it happened sooner. I may still be rather callous about incidental sun hitting me, often shirtless, but get out of it where I can and would not dream of laying in it purposely. Meeting a few older Oz guys who seemed to be regularly in clinics was one example.... and another quite elderly Texan who appeared to be rotting in places!

  18. That's got to be quite a relief. I have a few brown splotches from sun damage that I keep a close eye on for changes. So far, all good.

  20. I've experienced the village version of Songkran as well. Much prefer it to the madness that with the early start on Soi 7 now stretches for 11 days in Pattaya. Each year though on the 19th I venture out with a couple of good friends and enjoy one day of celebrating Songkran. The other 10 days I'll make every effort to avoid the water madness.

  21. ^^^ I always find it amusing when based on one person's great experience with a business, any others that report a negative experience are discounted and their reports classified as "myths". A data point of one is statistically irrelevant.

  22. Force I "doubt" very much if this is anyone (on any forum) who has done more London Bangkok round tickets with a fair proportion on staff tickets and a few booked direct with airline down the decades At least of the overall total I'd say a minimum 100 have been "agent" tickets. Never once have I had a problem. Not once. Have they all been booked with one single agent...nope far from it When I have had issues or want changes did the agent deal very effectively with the requests....yep each and every time The problem with what you (and others say) is invariably we always onl
