Now that work has begun on the high speed rail project linking Don Mueang, Suvarnabhumi, and the U-Tapao airports, thought it would be good to have a topic to track the construction progress with photos. It'll be interesting to see how the area changes over the coming years.   3. The old Batman Disco is always an interesting site to photograph. Construction progress on the skateboard/recreation area under the 3rd Rd flyover. Once again 3rd Rd is a mess with digging going on to bury utilities. I don't think the Thais will ever catch on to the idea of digging up a road once to bury utilities with enough conduit placed for future use.

  4. Thailand is in the amber list.... test before you depart, isolate at home for 10 days, prebooked tests (paid for, not nhs) on days 2 and ?7/?8, but you can pay for a 3rd test on day 5 and leave isolation sooner

  5. I though I read a few months back some embassies had requested permission to import vaccines for their citizens and the Thai govt refused to grant permission, or ignored the request outright.

  6. I'd be pleasantly surprised if the British ambassador was party to this if its true. My perception is that my government doesn't give a damn about retired UK expats. We don't have a vote, which may be why. Our pensions are frozen here, though not in the Philippines, we're not entitled to free use of the national health service when visiting home - although we've paid the same dues throughout our working lives as UK retirees have.
