  2. I`m sure he will be grateful to you for posting his identity and photo on an internet forum!

    well.. a reply at least..

    but.

the photo is off another internet page (ie facebook), and is by no means showing anything compromising or embarasing

i don't really think a forename only will assist anyone with identity theft

and the idea of posting this came to me as a freind of 20 years ago posted a photo he came across of me , asking if anyone knew me

which prompted someone to phone me to say that a pic of me with my arms around alice appeared on a forum and warning me in case my missus saw it.

end result is we are going to be meeting up in town next month after not seeing each other for many many years.

oh and the photo of alice & I would of troubled me had it not been that my wife and i have been freinds of alice for 7 years

and finnaly i'm sure that martin would remove the pic in the future should the person in it ever wish so without any problem

  4. Hi Guys.

i need to find a venue / facilities for a ISDN direct dial video conference link from pattaya to the UK urgently.

to cut a long story very short. i have custody of my 10 year old english son who has been living here with me in LOS.

he went back to the UK for a pre-arranged visit to his mother who has 'snatched' him now.

it matter is in the UK courts next month.

the court wants a direct video link to me/witness's here in thailand for myself and other to give evidence.

this has to be ISDN direct dial. UK courts it seems do not have or use internet conferencing for court cases and it has to be a ISDN direct dial line.

i had hoped to be able to use facilities at the CAT office however the court times are 10am - 6pm UK time which with the 6 hour time difference rules that out.

a few of the hotels I've found on Google claim to have ISDN video conferencing facilities for meeting .. however I've been to see them and its gets past a joke when they ask me to spell ISDN ...

any help from anyone would be much appreciated

  5. I agree... A real domain is essential if you think your business may expand... hosting isnt that expensive per annum

Let me know if you need some help....

www.webdesignthailand.net .... maybe we can work out something... :D

We dont always do cash business, sometimes barter is just as good for us :drunk

yup they are good.. they did me a site for bike rentals..

  6. have a bike for sale if anyone is interested

nice clean and tidy 3 year old Yamaha Nouvo MX 115cc scooter.

just been serviced (today) all the oils etc, and was given a full check over .

    breaks, tyres and everything good,

a good reliable bike with twin shocks on the back to absorb the extra farang weight :clueless

    for a good price.

  7. I don't see any mention of how long the lease is for and who owns the lease.

Do the owners require a smooth hand-over fee?

owner/landlady is a goverment official from the local or-bor-tor.

lease is 12 monthly with guarenteed renewal each year

hand over fee to the landlady is 30,000 baht 50/50 me & buyer

lease is in my company name at the moment.

  8. What's the turnover and profit margin? Did you pay yourself for your time?

i was sure i put this in the op. but

turnover is currently around 5k per day. thats turnover not profit

thats from zero on day 1 three months ago ., also i've had problems with the g/f's lack of intrest gettting it open the hours i wanted 8am-10pm .

i don;t pay myself for my time as i do not work in the minimart. thats why i'm selling it !! my buisness are webdesign & biek rentals , so i just do not have time for this shop. but i do pay the staff i'm using.

the staff budget is 10k per month when open 8am - 10pm everyday, but currently 5500b per month as i've opened only after midday of late .

margin varies form 10% upto 30% depending on where you buy from and the item(s)

phonecard sales of around 1000b per day (50b bought for 47b, sold for 55b)

this place needs someone with the time to do it. i am just filling the shelves and doing nothing with it.

it needs to do food as other than passing food karts or a full sit down meal at khun jonhs there are is no cokked food for the 50+ girls at the bars. its has a huge potential for the right people.

and i'm sure that if someone had it , lived there and ran it with a brain it would do well. i would alos suggest the farang involved sat outside in the evenings as it draws other people in to do shopping and sit down for a beer.

  9. Reason for sale?

The 4 mile claim to nearest 7-11, does that include the 2 that have opened in the last several months on Soi Siam CC?

I might add there is a fair bit of passing traffic as many use this road to head to the Bangkok motorway (7) and Rayong Expressway (36).

    Yo.

the 2 new 7/11's are near the X-roads on SS CC road. there not near the lake.

i really ought to taek a photo of the lake view as the location is great. its about 50ft to the waters edge i'd say. and b4 someone asks no flood risk.

reason for sale. bought the place as a minimart for tilak to run, and had plans of using some it as a office for my webdesign buisness. also to do bike rentals. suffice to say tilak lost intrest so now i have minimart that i am having to run myself. and i just do not have time as my english family (my 80 yr old mother & my 3 english kids) are here on a extended visit so i'm running them around all the time.

it needs someone who can put the bedroom to use either livign there themsleves or a member of the family living there. its not a shack and the bedroom is easily as good asd many of the apartments farangs live in in town if not better.

we tested the bike rental idea from there and were busy, but with me not being there and having to rely solelyu on thai staff who i do not really know to well i stopped that.

the kitchen is very big and very clean. easily good enough for someone who wants to do food from there.

and the reason for the low price is simply i do not want to mess around showing it to lots of people over several months and haggling. i just want the 1st person to come and look to go wow. great value, pay me the money, and for me not to have to think about going down there at 8am to open or 10pm to close.

  10. Minimart for sale , Mabprachan Lake Pattaya, with bedroom & kitchen 335,000 Baht.

Minimart located around Mabprachan lake Pattaya between a few beer bars (Da Bar, Google Bar, mang Kang Bar) and just before Khin Johns restraunt. in a perfect location for the local expat community. no compeeting minimarts localy nor is there a 7/11 for over 4 miles.

sale includes all fridges, shelving, counter, electronic till & ALL stock. a ready to go business venture.

double shop unit with ample parking and large covered seating area with space for more than 6 tables

large kitchen area , 1 bedroom, storeroom & bathroom/toilet with shower

Large 3 door drinks cooler fridge

large 2 door drinks cooler fridge

    glass top chest freezer

    double bed

    microwave

    kitchen appliances

    sunglass display rotunda

    post card display rotunda

    cigarette display unit

lots of shelving which costs new around 5000 baht per 4 shelf section I'm told. approx 80,000 bahts worth in use in shop.

stock includes huge selection of things including cigarettes, shoes, sunglass's, postcards, lots of European type food and all the usual Thai things, storeroom & fridges full of soft and alcoholic drinks. too much stock to list let alone mention.

also a wall ice cream freezer fully stocked (this freezer belongs to walls)

also included is a notebook computer with barcode scanner suitable for running the shop on barcode sales instead of the normal till.

so many other things that a list is impossible, viewing essential to appreciate the location overlooking the lake.

Annual rent currently 160,000 Baht with the next 9 months already paid in advance. No additional key money involved. asking prices was over 500k, however now heavily reduced to only 335,000 Baht for quick sale (price includes advance rent already paid, so the shop is in fact for sale for less than its rent+stock value!). if interested please PM or email me simon@webdesignthailand.net

  14. He Who Dares ......... and all that.

I've just booked up for a quick trip back to UK in March as I'll be in KL with my truck beforehand anyway. The total cost for everything I need came out at just under 1k GBP.

The picture being touted at the moment is that of the XL seats used on the current KL-Oz services. However, the aircraft being used on the London route doesn't go for its internal fit until January and their site shows a typical lie-flat/flatbed configuration for the A330/A340 (2-2-2) rather than the recliner layout (2-3-2) used on the Oz services. Hopefully, I'll be pleasantly surprised at what they come up with.

this will certainly help with the budget .. now let gets the pound vs dollar back up . $149 each way.

  15. phone calls this morning to the embasy and emirates airline

embasy official advise was phone the airline and thaialnd tourist authority.

airline advise was airport is closed. however taking provisional cahnges of booking from 2nd december but no promises of course. no help offered above this as its political unrest and therefore they are not obliged to do anything.

TAT advises they will put people up in hostels and there is a fund for food it seems.

unoffical chat with the guy at the embasy as i was pushing the point about repatriation flights operated by the military was that currently they are not considering them but are awaiting instructions from london.

more pushing about waht scenario would make it possible indicated that should lots of brits head to the embassy blankets in hand and start refusing to leave then it could start to become a possibilty. however as it stands with most of those stranded seemingly manageing then nothing will happen soon.

  16. Hi All

at some stage with the airports closed and standard flights not going tourists who are here will run out of money.

i have a freind waiting to go back to the UK and we were at the airport when it all kicked off the other night.

many phone calls give replies of no solution and nothing we can do.

so assumedly other goverments will have to consider repatriation flights operated under militiary control.

    how long i wonder ?

  17. i did this about a 2 years ago ..

had a flight booked on etihad from manchester . overslept of all things .. lol and when i wke up i uad 90 minutes to travel 110 miles to the airport . so i phoned expedia told them i'd broken dwon on the motorway.

they canceled the ticket , less a £200 surcharge , and sold me a new one..

took 3 months to get the part refund ..

in all the round trip cost over £1200 i think just for the airfare .. was worth every penny though :finger

  18. so your closing so you can lock yourself in your own bar with all the girls and for your 50th birthday. you vowed many years ago to bed 50 woman in one night on you 50th birthday. and this was the easiest way to do it without worrying about sloppy seconds.

ps.. can i film it ! :bow

oh btw.. hows bartercard work in your place ? sure i've read you take it ?

  19. depends where i'm going ..

car park near the kebab stall oppsoite VC hotel, as if your going to drive towards coyote agogo but right into the car park.. ideal for walking street.

or soi 6. 6/1 , then motorcycle or baht bus.. always fun going back to the car very late, get soem of the tg's shouting out the windows for a early morning screw.. as long as you cna run past the ladyboys

    or evne 2nd rd..

i've also parked on pattaya tai a few times , near WS.. but get a lot of pissed off market stall owners when you go back after there open
