  1. After a couple of dozen Singha's a day, the Daiquri"s were a nice change. Played that box game and

had to buy some LD's but good fun. The problem was like prev poster, i was in during the day and the machine took a long time to crank the drinks out. The location is going to be a problem, i only found them because of the posting here.

    A nice change.

  2. Since i'm trying my first 3 or 4 way in Dec. thought i might get a Cat Scan screen for heart and lungs.

I contacted Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and they came back with these prices

    CT brain 9350

CT coronary 17,900 (12,000 special until Dec31) Not clear if thats 64 slice or EBT.

    CT chest abd 31,200

Seems a little high. Any recommendations.

I'll only be in Bkk for 1 night so would prefer Pattaya

Also when customs asks why i went to Thailand again i can answer Medical.

  3. "If a Pattaya based driver doesn't know BKK and a BKK based driver doesn't know Pattaya, how do folks get between hotels in BKK and Pattaya? "

Tom ,you stop and ask the motorcy guys. Had to do that Airport to Patts. and later to the find the Waterside Marriott in Bkk.

I mention this for the newbs stuck in this situation. Don't let the driver just meander about. Didn't tip them but looking back it probably would have been a good idea. They may guide you in.

  4. Steve, the problem i had with the the airport taxi is that he didnt know his way around Pattaya to find my hotel.

Another BM complained of driviing around Patt's for an hour. I also used Jan and never paid attention to the ride into the city.

The USA flights get in at midnite or i would use Bell's. After following the many threads on this i'm going to use Mr.T.

    on Diana.

Edit to answer your question- I got jacked up to 1400 , was tired and didn't argue.

  5. One consideration for me is an in room safe. I showed up at 0100 at the Eastiny on Soi8 near second road.

Was told no in room safe, and the reception safes were not available a night -no keys. I had

USD, Baht, TC , Thai bank book, atm card and US and Thai phones, all of which i could carry with me or leave in the room.

I told the desk i'll find another hotel for the night and of course a key was found.

If i stay in the area again The Eastiny on Soi 7 looks good. They have a pretty good websit for comparisons.

  6. The Bayshore is a top place but in the past not monger friendly, has that changed?.

Im trying the Grand in Dec. Consider the 1 bdrm suite at at the LKR on Diana.

If your a first time visitor would suggest the Residence Gardens. You wll meet fellow BM"s

who will helo you out, Dont worry about the location, just pay the 100 baht taxi ride home.

Didnt care for the Marriott, but it is a Marriott.

  7. Im out for October. ANA 1800/not dropping as usual, United 1200+, AA with lousy routing.

Booked Dec 1 Iad-Bkk 940 all in from orbitz. Bronze FF so they let me pre select seats ,important for a 24 hr flight.

Sorry im missing a lot of new names in October, leave some pussy for us December guys.

  8. Across 2cd road directly in front of Mikes is Soi Dianna. 2 laundry shops on the left before Slices Pizza.

But really its hard to walk a block in any direction without running into one. I forget the prices.

Funny you should ask ,The laundries put a colored thread in your clothes to identify yours. I noticed the polo I'm wearing still has the thread from the last trip. Looked at that and brought back fond memories of Patt's.

I really need to get back there if i'm going on about laundry like this.

  9. I try to give something to the kids, but this just ends up labeling you as a dope. So i let the TG deal with it, sometimes she gives money, most times not. The most useful phrase i learned from my Thai teacher was

"please do not touch my body". I dont remember the translation now but i'll post it. The kids hear that in Thai and move on to easier marks.

Giving to the orphanage is merit all us mongers should make imho.

  10. I plan some procedures in LOS .I'm in the medical field and research has me comfortable with having these done in Thailand. I did look at having Lasik in the states but was advised "Why bother, your old (56), your just going to get cataracts

and need lens implants anyway." Lasik is well priced here, but lens implants are not unless you have a cataract diagnosis.

I would like to get rid of the glasses.

4nieceight, don't worry about predudicing BPH, adverse reactions happen, mistakes don't .Care to name the surgeon?

Pattaya eye center looked good at least on the surface, just a bump to see what other have found.

  11. to give favor to owner, a gift to owner of the property

    came from chinese culture

to earn out of regular rent.

    chinese start this tradition.

Ok i dont know why but im online with my Thai teacher and this was her answer.
