UPDATE: FYI for anybody thinking about booking. After I resent, I received a second reply with the quoted price for the Metropole. I had requested quotes for late Jan - mid Feb '09. "Lastest update rate for FLB Entertainment as followed. Standard double bed THB1,625 Studio double bed THB1,950 Superior double bed THB2,080 All room type are exclude breakfast and the breakfast cost only 150 baht." Slightly better than the chart on page one, minus breakfast which I'd rather do without anyways. Now I gotta choose between LK and Best Beach on Soi 5.

There are no extra fees with United for getting an award ticket in someone elses name, at least as recently as March. I got my dad an award ticket to China for 60,000 FFM plus $36 in fees. My upcoming trip to LOS was 60,000 FFM plus $47 in fees. I think the fees are locality specific. See above.

According to United's website, you can only have a maximum of 15,000 miles transfered to you in a calendar year.

Hi all, I arrive in BKK at 11:10PM on Tuesday 30 September. I'll be heading straight to Pattaya as soon as I clear Customs and Immigration, probably around 11:45PM-12:00AM. I have already booked a taxi so if anyone else is arriving that night, let me know and we can split the cost of the taxi. I think I can ride share with one or two more people depending on how much baggage we all have.

Frosty, the 12call sim does not work in the US for calling out or sending SMS messages, but it DOES work for receiving calls and SMS messages. You have to add either TMobile or ATT to your list of approved networks on your phone. Easy way to test if you have set it up properly is to use Yahoo Messenger to call your Thai cell phone. cr

The lawyers for the class members will request 27.5% or the estimated $313,000,000 expected to remain in the settlement fund after deducting costs for administering the settlement and notice, plus interest, for attorneys' fees for investigating the facts, litigating and resolving the case. They will also request reimbursement of their expenses, not to exceed $5,000,000, to be paid from the settlement fund.
