Yes. Thai Immigration in Jomtien will "convert" your entry in a single non-O without problem if you are +50 but you will not have to respect "new UK consulates rules" to get it and then they will "give" you a "1-year Extension for reason of Retirement" because of your 800 kb in a Thai Bank :)
-
In this case you don't need a non-O Visa Just come in Thailand with any visa (or none) and get here a 1-year Extension

Depends of the Visa: For Married people : http://www.thaiconsul-uk.com/download.aspx?id=20130916155059 : "Copy of Thai Bank Book or UK "Current Account" bank statements for last 3 months showing monthly income equivalent to THB65k or lump-sum amount of THB800k "

Hi. The big difference in Hull rules is for married guys & single non-O (rules from September, 16) They made it simple (for the consulate) because All non-O Visa (married, +50,...), single or multiple, require a 65'000 THB monthly income or 800'000 THB in bank (UK or TH) See http://www.thaiconsul-uk.com/downloads-and-visas.aspx non-O Married: http://www.thaiconsul-uk.com/download.aspx?id=20130916155059 non-O +50: http://www.thaiconsul-uk.com/download.aspx?id=20130918092412

Please MM... Not you. You are here for a long time and you are very often on the Internet, so you should know... First there is no "retirement visa". What you get is a "1-year Extension for reason of Retirement (+50 yo)". It's an authorisation of stay. It's not a visa. To get this Extension (that you call "retirement visa") you must have a non-Imm visa. Being 50 and having money is not enough. It's not new and it's clearly present in the 2008 Extension of stay rules §2.22 p. 9 At this point it depends of the Immigration Office. In many places they will tell you to exit Thailand an

No no MM, no change that I know , but the important word in previous messages is "multiple". Standard procedure at Jomtien when you have a Tourist Visa (or Visa Exemption) and want to go to the "+50 yo" way, is to "convert" your actual visa in a non-Imm O (a 3 months one, not a multiple) and then 2-3 months later you can ask for the "Retirement 1-year extension" and then renew it each year. You will not get a 1-year O (multiple) in Thailand or in a neighbour country. More and more hard to get, even in your own country! But you don't need it if you qualify for a Retirement (or Wife) ext

USA is a special case because Immigration knows that your Embassy does not check the revenues amount you declare. People of other countries (who check revenue before delivering the attestation letter) don't have this problem. I just move to Retirement in June at Jomtien and did not have to show my passbook, only my (French) Embassy's letter with enough checked revenues. A "Visa-O retirement" multiple cannot be obtained or renewed at Pattaya. Why give a price in baht ? It will be done abroad (UK? USA? ...) so paid in £, $, €... and not exactly the same price in every country

The price of booze goes up tomorrow (4 Sep) ...
Idefix replied to CheshireTom's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
So, did you see any change on beer or alcohol drinks in bars ? Or was is a lot of noise for just 3 or 5 baht that will not immediately be added on prices ? -
Maybe, but you got a incomplete one... You have basically 2 options with non-B : 1- You come here to work for a Thai company, and it will be the WP way as described by MM 2- You come here "to make business here" but sent by a foreign company: no need of WP I used the option 2) for 1 year before my ED visa. Never worked here and never got a WP. http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/services/123/15388-Non-Immigrant-Visa-%22B%22-%28for-Business-and.html

I will have to ask him. He is now near Chiang Mai and not much on the Internet. I know he made 2 visits at electric office in Royal Garden. - One before the sale to get an attestation that all was clear/paid. - One after the sale to cancel this automatic payment.
-
Someone in my condo recently made it : 1- Go to Electric company office in Royal garden and fill the form "case of selling your home". They fill it for you, you just need to show transfer papers you get from the Land office 2- Go to your bank and ask to cancel the automatic payment from the Electric company (after your last payment taken!) Done :)
-
Because "your" bank does not list it on its website doesn't mean that the electric company does not offer it... As for myself in Pattaya I subscripted to the "automatic payment": The counter reading is made around the 18th of each month and the payment is taken from my Kasikorn account about the 11th of the following month. Work perfectly and no more worry with bills to pay when not present in Pattaya.
-
I have the 900 baht/month option, in theory 13 Mbits, and works rather well with ~15 Mbits most of time 3BB options : http://3bb.co.th/product/product_detail.php?lang=en&id=2086

A lot of work for this ridiculous rule by US airlines asking to show the card you pay with... Always wonder how it would work for me as I used to pay my tickets with the company card. ??
-
Yes I have the normal basic "no name" debit card, for ATM or shopping, and a virtual card number to use with PayPal or on the Internet. Don't need more. :) Why would someone want his name on his debit or credit card ? To not have it is yet another step to secure your card & account.

Looks like again Hull is said to change its rules to have similar rules to other Thai consulates in the world. Kuala Lumpur or Paris by example already required 800'000 baht in a Thai bank (or equivalent monthly earning) to get a multiple non-Imm O "for being over 50". Amount is only 200'000 if your are over 60 yo. It's logical because the "non-Imm O" usage was not for retirement. For that you have non-Imm O-A or single non-Imm O + "retirement" extension. In both these cases you have to prove you have enough resources to live 1 year. I understand that Hull was a way to avoid this requir

Not sure what you are talking about ?? To make online shopping Kbank offer you a virtual card "K-Web card". I received # and data the day after I asked for it.
-
If your are lucky enough to be in an area where they already installed optic fibres, you may take advantage of actual promotions for 25-30 Mbits at about the same price Example: http://www.3bb.co.th/3bb/product/details/2253

UNIXX condo in Pattaya for SALE. 27sqm (transfer of contract)
Idefix replied to mataleo's topic in The Market
Looked on Google and agree that most offers are in 1.8-2.1 millions, but very hard to compare as very few give indication of which floor... BTW, do you know about the cost increase by floor in Unixx ? By example what difference for same apart at floor 20 or floor 40 ? -
UNIXX condo in Pattaya for SALE. 27sqm (transfer of contract)
Idefix replied to mataleo's topic in The Market
You can find plans of the condo and units on http://www.unixxcondo.com/index.php/en/unittype Here is the plan of this kind of room (1S1) : 27 sqm is the promoter size... It includes everything, including pillar, separation wall, air-con area,... By western standard it would be probably a 25 sqm unit. The plan is good. They made a good repartition of the small space IMHO. Main problem for me on such condo: no balcony... Spankys VIP X Pat Card
Idefix replied to spankys bar soi diamond's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Hi. I stopped in Spanky's last night and have been very surprised to see that the stage was full of Coyotes ! I think they have about 12 of them, dancing alternately with about 15 topless or bikini agogo dancers. Didn't know that Spanky's had Coyotes now, but half of them are rather very pretty, while in many other places most of Coyotes are rather average. -
UNIXX condo in Pattaya for SALE. 27sqm (transfer of contract)
Idefix replied to mataleo's topic in The Market
Contract is one thing, but in Thailand reality often is another one Do you known many (if any) condos who completed at contract date ? Just look on their website on this page : http://www.unixxcondo.com/Landing/?module=project and scroll to the bottom : Expected completion: Estimated Q2 2015 I like on their site the "Panorama View" at several height who give more real information about what you may expect from a room. Good from them -
UNIXX condo in Pattaya for SALE. 27sqm (transfer of contract)
Idefix replied to mataleo's topic in The Market
They announced "Q2 2015" for the first tower... and most Pattaya projects take 1 or 2 Q late by year... So Q1 2016 maybe ? -
Should not be difficult to get a room in City Garden ... I visited a friend there in June and all other rooms at his floor where unoccupied... He stays there because he bought from plan many years ago, but very few renting here, because of crazy asked prices and of many new condos in this area. Be careful with the noise too. Several constructions not far.
