  1. You are right: Can't compare: VT5 is "on the beach" while yours is not... 2 points why I will never buy an apart like yours : - way to small - the vis-à-vis ! Be constantly spied on by neighbors is just unbearable. I like being "free" in my room, not having a chat with people in opposite building... Gabor: VT5 complex is nearly 2'000 aparts AFAIK
  2. Uh? Do you really think someone can "live" in a 26 sqm apartment ? Sound to me as a holyday place for week-ends or 1 week stays max. PS: Yes Thais probably can do that but Farangs ?
  3. I stopped in Private Dancer yesterday too at about 10pm. I think I didn't stay even 10 minutes and left without finishing my drink. . I know what to expect in this kind of agogo, not really the same line-up as Super Baby, but usually there are at least 1 or 2 descent girls (with my criteria). Yesterday it was a retirement agogo for pom pui ladies... And to be fair, I stopped in BabyDoll the night before: it was not better. No idea if the few descent ones were already BFed, not here that night, or not working there anymore ?
  4. I hope that information inside is more recent than the Pattaya picture on the front cover... When has the old wooden pier been destroyed ? 2007 ? 2006 ?
  5. I usually recommend Yenjit offices. There is one on Walking Street, one on Soi Buakhao, and a few other. You can find them here: http://www.yjpattayaexchange.com/6.html Rates are there: http://www.yjpattayaexchange.com/4.html For an amount of several thousand $//£ you can bargain the rate Always a better rate if you have big value notes (50£/100-200/100$) Check the T.T. Exchange office on Soi Buakhao too, opposite Sawasdee Siam Hotel (purple) Best rates I think are in Bangkok at places like SuperRich : http://www.superrichthailand.com For 5'000 £, it may worth a tr
  6. [OUT OF SUBJECT] What's your point here ? There are millions of people in France who work 10 hours/day or more ! I suppose it's an allusion to the famous "35 hours/week" scheme, but most people abroad ignore it's mainly just a reference for the minimum salary and that very few people in fact have 35 hours contracts; mainly a few happy people working for governmental offices... I was working as a computer engineer until 2005 and I (like all people around me) had contract in days/years with no indication on the number of hours by day or week. 10-12 hours/day is very frequent for most m
  7. Hi. Don't know from how long, but noticed yesterday that there are Coyotes now at X-zone... Coyotes in Pattaya : the invasion continues
  8. Hi. I can just tell you that for me it's working well, but I don't know why you have this problem Which computer/browser ?
  9. Hi. Right. I used this App during about 10 days. It's a very addictive app, but a stressful one too. You have to reply (and know Thai writing), yes, but you have to reply fast too ! From a programmer point of view it's a very good app. :) From a Thai learner point of view it has a major default IMO : the proposed list of words I would think all first lessons would use very frequent words, the vocabulary you use the more to talk, but not at all. I remember that "bomb" was in the first lesson (of 20 or 30 words). How often do you use this word in everyday conversation ?? Many rather str
  10. Hi Gabor. Not so many apartments in these corners. 2x15? I would print a small message, telling you could be interested to buy, and would post it in in each of the concern letter boxes, with mention to make follow to the owner (in case of rent). Nothing to lose to try that
  11. Just think that not everyone here is a native English speaker and that things like "to rite wot i can rite like, but a message aynt it me old duck" can be incomprehensible for them... or me. And is that so hard to press a Shift key when you write "I" ? Or to add a quote at "isnt" or "didnt" ? Seriously ?
  12. At last? Nothing really new with a discount card. Places like Heaven Above have price reduction cards for years, on drinks and BF. I think the best deal nowadays is from the Glass House agogo whith their "Black Card": 30% reduction on your bill, including your drinks, LD and BF ! (a 1'500 coyote BF becomes a 1'000 baht BF, and 700 baht after midnight . Other dancers: 1'000 BF -> 700 baht, and 490 after midnight)
  13. Ask them for automatic direct debit on your account and you will never fear again to forget to pay it
  14. Hmm... Calm please. This thread was supposed to be about neighbours... I don't think I would like neither Papillon neither Jacko as a neighbour
  15. Of course ?? At Pattaya, AFAIK, it's only possible at Centre Condo who has a 90% (or 95%?) non-Thai ratio. Papillon's message is out of subject; You can have "at least 51% will be Thai owned" but have 99% of your neighbours been farangs
  16. 12 seats in a mini-bus ??? What kind of minibus was that ? an extended one ? I made numerous of visarun "before" going to the Cambodia border and always got minibus similar to the ones on pictures in the first message : they are 3x3 + 1 seats and comfortable enough if you are not too tall... and not a big beer drinker I remember a visarun to Vientiane from a cheap place on Soi Buakhao where we still had 9 seats but in a very long minibus with large seats you could nearly put horizontal. A good choice for a nearly 1 night travel.
  17. I confirm (I made the move to IE10 this morning ) The problem still exists on "the Soi 14 forum" though
  18. Right Jacko. Just get the same thing when posting that Looks like other IPB forums have this problem: example
  19. A rather excessive reaction I think... as it's not really IE10 fault! This is an old well know bug who comes from the CKEditor used by IPBoard forum and many other forums or blogs. CKEditor made a fix for this bug in November last year. Looks like is not yet in the PattayaTalk IPB forum code. Do you guys have the same problem on other IPB forums ? I see PattayaTalk uses release 3.3.4 while many use 3.4.3. Maybe an update is required? (and sorry for MM in this case )
  20. Yes I did, but long time ago, and with a 1 year licence expired since about 1 month. I have a 5 years licence now. Ok it may have work for you, but as I said many people have been refused. So why take this risk when you just can wait 2 months and will have it without problem ?
  21. Where Bigmick ? Certainly not in Pattaya ! Many reports on ThaiVisa and other expat's forums of people who tried and failed. See the Warning on pattayacityexpatsclub.com checklist :
  22. When do you come back ? You need to have your 1-year temporary licence expired to renew it. You need to show an non-imigrant visa to get a 5 years licence. Procedure is rather simple and can be found on many websites about Pattaya and/or Expats.
  23. Hi Marc. Here is an example of a recent report : Words may be a little hard/strong here, but I myself made a U-turn at Spanky's door at least twice in the first 2 weeks of January: few girls, average lineup, not the usual atmosphere. Don't know why? Don't know if it changed back since? Hope Spanky's will come back a good fun place :)
  24. Hum... I am very unsure about that... or more precisely a thing of the past Last report from Gabor about your place say: Something went wrong in Spanky's last few weeks... Read recent reports.
