Something good might have come out of the Soi 15 fiasco!
When Soi 15 was inaccessible at both ends, the sub-soi that runs between Soi Buakhao and Soi 15 was being used a lot. (Many of us refer to it as Soi Casino, for what are now only historical reasons!)
Soi Casino is mostly a dirt track with bad potholes, except where it runs from Soi 15 up to between the Whisper and Kokotel hotels, which has been concreted.
I notice today that it has been blocked off where the concrete ends, and it looks like the concreting is being extended.

Thanks @monkeyman for another installment of Monkeywatch.
Don't understand why someone would give your lighthearted look at the state of Pattaya a red arrow. Hopefully it's just a case of color blindness and they meant to click on the green one.
That is a persistent problem with this board with the 'reactions" being anonymous, except to the mods/admin.

The concreting of the Second Road end Soi 15 appears to be complete. Not only that, but road markings are being done.
The bad news is that the concrete feels very undulating when walking over it, so be prepared for wet feet after some rain if you are a pedestrian.
I'm not entirely sure of the status of Second Road at that intersection. It might be regarded as complete, but I hope not as there are a lot of improvements which could be made e.g. see the drain cover in this picture:

I believe the Dollhouse has been acquired and will reopen as Windmill 3.
There is no sign of re-opening happening, and isn't the story I've heard.

A few weeks ago Windmill also bought Dollhouse in Soi 15
Yes, but it isn't open.

"Is it the only place to go now....Walking St no longer suits the Expat. Except maybe the 3 Windmills....."
3 Windmills?
There are 2 Windmills, and each has 2 floors.

Real pity about Dynamite it was just getting going as well. Just another example though of how tough the business is in Pattaya to survive. All about location location and foot traffic of the masses .
...... and pricing, and attitude!

Hello Steve, my name is Sanders(Sam) and I live in Pattaya now. I would like your help in a 100% condo renovation. My email is chippendalesam@yahoo.com
Unfortunately, Steve is having problems accessing the forum (mods: are you able to assist, please?), but I've made him aware of your post and he will email you.

What say we crawl out of the septic tank and into another cesspool. Patpong.
Thanks very much, RT. Very useful.
Unfortunately, I think that nothing you have said persuades me that a visit to PP is warranted on my next visit to LOS.

Superficially, no.
But 'non hotels' shouldn't officially be rented for less than a month , and also some condos forbid.
Thanks again.

Thanks, Regyai. That seems to make sense.
So, as far as someone looking to rent a property is concerned, it doesn't really matter if a property is a condo or an apartment as it affects only to whom they pay rent.

I used the term condo with a mind to the newer developments that have sprung up in the last decade.
Thanks, but I don't think that that is a commonly accepted definition.

Thanks. So if someone buys a condo and rents it out, does it then become an apartment?

He is on a tight budget and will likely be renting a cheap apartment rather than a condo.
Apologies for going OT, but can someone help me out here, please.
What is the difference between an apartment and a condo?

I thought I'd investigate the new Las Vegas agogo, which opened in Soi LK Metro yesterday. I got there at 8.15 this evening. It opened at 8pm, so I caught the end of the first 20 minute shift.
That shift was 5 girls on stage, one topless, four in lacey, black bikini tops, and all 5 of them wearing skimpy tennis skirts with G-strings underneath.
The next 20 minutes shift consisted of 9 girls, and the one after 8 girls. Both shifts were the same in that the girls were wearing skimpy pink bikinis.
The lights were not as bad as I had feared they might be. There were occasions when I had to close my eyes and face the floor because they were bright and dazzling, but mostly they were under control.
The music was the typical car alarm stuff.
The place is very large, with a high ceiling. The stage is about 4 feet off the ground. It felt cold and clinical - reminded me a bit of the old Alcatraz place in WS in terms of atmosphere.
Upon arrival, I was given a heavy plastic token with no explanation. The waitress took it from me, and it seems that I was entitled to a free beer (which I didn't want, so gave it to another customer who arrived later and didn't get one free).
A huge amount has obviously been spent on this place, but it has to offer a lot more than I was aware of this evening if it is going to be a success. I would have rather gone to somewhere like Destiny.

I guess you mean the one that became Nevada which was actually on Post Office?. The guy who owned that Las Vegas a go go did come back to Pattaya and opened a couple of places in soi Yamoto IIRC. Not heard that he is back again opening places though.
There was Las Vegas II and Las Vegas III. One became Big Hugs, and the other So Nice.

Great Super Spreaders spewing droplets all over the buffet as they fight over buns and frantically scoop up all the seafood in sight.
The Italians have been Covid testing volunteers on flights from Mainland China and have found that one in two passengers are Covid infected.
And we anxiously await the results of the Italian genome sequencing of the virus they are carrying to know whether it is a new variant.

You might have lucked out with low occupancy. IIRC, there were reports pre-pandemic that with more people staying there it caused long waits for an elevator.
Yes, but I think it was occupied mainly by Chinese tour groups.
It wasn't just long waits for elevators but also the bun fights at the buffet breakfast.
