  1. So if you bring a cell phone over to Thailand from another country and use the Sim from your home country then you do not have to register it ? I wonder why it can not Explode here ?? That is some dumb shit.

Remember when they talked about stopping TV broadcasting at Midnight so to convver power as people would not be able to keep there TV's going all night ? Well what about watching DVD's ??

  2. That negative review was deleted by the publisher because the book had only just been relased when the review was posted and it was impossible that the reviewer had read the book. Seems a little unfair that an author spends months and months researching and then writing a book and then someone writes that it's a waste of money without even having read it! Publish America is not so bad a company. The publisher helps thousands of authors get published. There is a sample of the book on the following link.

Your creditabilty here is less than Zero you lied from your first post by not saying you were the author. The State of Maryland seem to think that Publish America is a Scam Why delete your thread from ThaiVisa Board ??

  3. Don't know what the fuss is about. RG is excellent value and hassle free. I booked and confirmed last week for April 2006 and was quoted 1350 per room per night. Bloody marvellous. CAn't wait to get back there.

I like the RG too but they are not the only game in town lot's of good places if you do your homework

  4. Thanks for all the contributions on this topic, which has been confusing in the past. Tony, if the 3 million baht requirement is true for persons under the age of 50, then all I need to do is have $75K US in a Thai bank account each year when I apply and then renew, and I can get and maintain a retirement visa. That means I can retire in Pattaya about 3 years earlier than I expected (age 47). Am I missing something?

Leave your money in the US where you will make some interest and apply for the 1 year Non Imm O visa thru the Denver Consual Many have done that and Jan in Denver said no problem in getting them back to back then when you turn 50 transfer the 800,000 baht and convert your 1 year non Imm O to a retirement Visa here in Thailand very easy to do here.

  5. Larry,

It's not so much as getting your pension paid if you live in Thailand. It's rather that the UK Government are saying thank you very much for saving us money by living abroad and then tell us that the amount of pension they pay will never increase unless we return to the UK (or the EU and a few other select countries) to live. I saw some figures a while back and seem to recall that the actual cost of paying all those ex-pat pensioners the annual increase would be minimal compared to the total overall cost.

Well I guess I understand but don't agree but that's life I guess :rotflmao

  6. Good idea to have dinner at a reputable place the night before, as I was having to worry that "running" the border was going to cause problems.........make sure you take a roll of toilet paper biggrin.gif

Good thing I can ask the driver in thai to pull over if I needed to

So your saying stay away from the White Knight on Soi VC the night before you do the Run huh ? :ang2

  7. You can use the funds in the account for day to day living expenses whilst here. Higher interest accounts are available but I'm not sure what the minimum depost is. I'll look into this at some point.

Yes I agree Alan but those with the larger % Rates are Time Deposits so you could not take from that account for the Day to Day living with out getting spanked I think
