  1. What a crock of shit... angry2.gif I just think I'll just vacation there if I have to keep 20000 USD in their bank with no incentive.

    Tib,

I know what you mean but to me it will be worth it as never having to leave for a visa run. And the Visa runs are now about 50 US so 600 a year would 20,000 a year yield 600 in interest ? Well matters not at not having that 9 hour trip makes it worth it for me  :clueless :nod

  2. Now, do I have to go to soi 8 and report that I have my visa stamp updated?

    Ting,

When you were stamped back in to Thailand did the date not reflect another 90 days admitted ? Should have.

  3. It is 800,00 baht per year which can be in one lump sum or a monthly sum from say a pension or so forth. If it is a monthly sum your application needs to be accompanied by a letter from your embassy confirming the exact amount that is being credited monthly to your account, and the source of where it is coming from.

    Tony

Are you sure about this or am I reading this wrong Let's say this guy has been transferring in 1 million Bath through out the year and has the receipts to prove it but when renewal day comes around he has a balance of only 460,000 Baht Are you sure they will renew with less than the 800,000 ??

  4. If you can walk in to the clinic you get the letter I was told at the clinic that the exam takes 10 Min's how can they check for all that stuff with out a blood test or can they and all for a cost of 150 baht ?? Modern Medicine comes to Pattaya

  5. The advantage of buying a place is you are protected from future inflation. Renting seems a better option at the moment. However if you gamble on the future and buy a place, property at the moment isin't too expensive, and if you have to write it off at some stage it shouldn't break you. I wouldn't keep all my assets in LOS (if I had any assets)

I chose to buy as the price was too good to pass up and the TG I live in will have a place for her and her son when I am out of the pitcure as this is the least I could do for her putting up with me <grin

  6. So, I sit here working hard (or hardly working) ... while using my overactive imagination.

Right now, the thought is of cookies.

Oh shit, I have some cookies over there.

    Yummy!

maybe Jesus Christ wants some too!

He can ask, but I'll just say "No cookies for joo!!!!"

He can turn water into cookies, these are mine!!!!

    Chris,

I Think your losing it :nod :banana

  7. Immigration told me its better for me to go over to a marriage visa but then of course i have to show money in the bank as well as not having the control i need over the business, I refused it and I am sticking with my non imm b with work permit which i've had for 4 years now, no visa runs or anything biggrin.gif (but 6000bht in tax to pay every month)

So another rise in drink prices soon there Dave :D

  8. From your recommendation many months ago, Soi 7, I got my Non Im 'O' multiple entry visa through the Denver office. Jan was my contact. She was extremely helpful. My claim was processed and turned around the same day.

    Chris,

And all the Info that I gave to you I got from LARRYST so it is a domino effect of people helping people let's have a group hug :D

  9. Mike,

I can't understand Jan in Denver not being helpful as Myself, Bacon, Tingtong, and one other board member who's name slips my mind have gotten the 1 Year O from her with out a hitch and she was quite helpful. As a matter of fact Mine was turned around in 48 hours

Also much easier to get the Retirement visa in Thailand but like peter said you need to have the 1 year o first and convert it. I went down with a guy that lives in the same place I do he was there at 8 AM on Soi 8 and had all the Doc's. Med check form Bank Book with Balance and a letter from the bank as well stating that the 800,000 was transferred in from out of the country As well as a filled out Application in and out 15 Min's with his Retirement Visa.

  10. Torranova,

This post from the ThaiVisa board

I was informed by a policeman on my 5th or 6th time that I was asked for my licence that I require a International Drivers Licence in addition to my aus licence or I need to get a thai drivers licence. This can only be achieved if you have a non-imm visa.

    Others may know different though

  11. I have my laptop

and I have a bluetooth enable cell phone to connect to the internet.

so .... I can take my cell phone and laptop with me anywhere.

And connect to the internet anywhere.

Yea Chris till the Battery dies :D

So if I get the right cell phone with Bluetooth and a Bluetooth adapter for my laptop, I can be anywhere and have broadband? sounds like the way to go.

    Rex,

No you get speeds equal to Dial up no where near broadband

  12. I saw these at Carrefour but only saw a large size there so what you might want to do is invite a large number of TG's up for a party and feed them Beans and warm Beer Then get them together for some night time action should be quite interesting indeed :D

    Yes At Carrefour :D

A Rice cooker would not fit the bill for what you want to do
