Some are saying this could kill off the A380. I'm not so sure if that is a fair or relevant comparison, perhaps putting it up against the A350 might be better, here's an interesting comparison:

I read in the Wall Street Journal last week the A380 is close to being cancelled due to lack of orders.

  2. One trip we were double bumped in SFO. United gave us vouchers for $1000USD each. We flew from Philly to Bali for free. When we got to Bali our hotel was fully booked with a Kia auto dealer convention. The only room available was a 5 room suite with our own butler. We stayed there for two weeks using hotel points. Only hotel room I'd be willing to stay in for the rest of my life. Best family vacation ever!

  4. Lovely report and photos, Evil.

As I've gotten older -- wow, I hate typing those words -- I've become less concered about food quantity and more concerned about food quality. Accordingly, buffets for the sake of being a buffet no longer interest me. I'd rather have a good, solid meal in a single portion (simple or fancy) and have it appropriately priced than try and gorge the most calories per baht that I can just because.

Too bad too. This place, in terms of decor, looks really nice.

To quote Evil " There was nothing wrong with the food except the lack of variety." I'd be willing to give them a try at least once. The decor is interesting and over the top.

  5. Hi Guys

New to this forum but not new to Thailand though its been a few years.

Could anyone tell me the cheapest return flights from Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh next October please?

Looks like around £180 return if booked in the UK

AirAsia has flights for $130USD return.

  6.

If you think 105 minutes is bad, my last trip after I caught a bus down to Pattaya from Ekemai Bus station in Bangkok and it took 150 minutes..Drove slow but the worst bit was as we were nearing Pattaya he pulled into an LPG station and then kicked us all off while he filled up with gas.

Sounds like a reasonable safety regulation.
