  1. Flew them frequently a couple of years ago on the regional flight from Istanbul to Zagreb, Croatia. Good service and food was fine in business class, I don't know what it was like in economy. Don't know about longer flights either.

With a stopover in Istanbul I would be thrilled.

Istanbul is a great city but a 5 hour layover is not enough time to do anything. The airport is a fair ways outside of town and I've had times when it took 1.5 hours to get downtown through all of the traffic. To really enjoy anything in the city you would need at least an overnight layover.

  2. I was especially late showing up as I never got to town from the airport until almost 1am and most of the revelers had long since departed by the time I arrived. These were the only 2 ne'er do wells left when I arrived.

This of course left me no option except drinking until the wee hours of the morning (daylight or close to it). :chogdee2

  3. I think you should all stop picking on deadman ! :ang2

That Ms Eva is not as innocent as you may think...

How did you get the photos Frank? Did you take her for a test hump before sending her to Thailand?

    Ms Eva

    I am heartbroken. :cry2

When I agreed to send you 25,000 baht a month you told me you would go back to your parents' field and stop working the bar. :D

I have woken up today to find pictures of you with another farang on the internet.

What makes it worse is that I am sure I can see a smile on your face as he is ramming you up the dirtbox. :drunk

Please do not contact me again. :D

    I hope you get a puncture. :cry2

    Your ex-sponsor.

You get what you pay for. BTW are you responsible for her murder? Did you put a contract out on her in a fit of jealous rage?

    You've been fleeced ,

    Joe

    ROTFLMFAO

Sadly I believe Martin should close this thread now out of respect for the deceased. She really wasn't a bad sheep, just misguided and tormented. Sadly she will be missed. RIP Eva

  4. Ewe sound realy pissed! Wooln't ewe prefer a nice loving highland boy? I'm sure that ewe understand that ewe can no longer trust a creature that walks on 2 legs and has no wool?

Ali has been fair to unfair to ewe and to top it off he talks constantly of ram(ming) it into a couple of LBs which must be doubly embarrassing to you, he is truly acting like a kid.

I hope ewe are able to recover and carry on with a normal life in spite of the devastating blow this must be to ewe.

    My condolences.

  5. This is really a loaded question as many of us have a different opinion of what makes a good pizza.

Myself, I prefer a nice Chicago style deep dish pizza with lots of thick tangy sauce, lots of meat and a thick crust. Outside of North America this is not the standard for a pizza and you are more likely to find a thin crust pizza with either little sauce or runny sauce and no actual substance to the pizza as it may be viewed as an appetizer or a snack rather than a meal by itself.

Different people grew up with pizza different ways and have become accustomed to what they gre up with. Somebody from Canada or the US is very likely to have different tastes when it comes to pizza than a European.

  6. She got them off some other guy and because she did not pay for them and cannot eat them she gave them to you. :drunk :clap2

Funny you mention that because I ate one when I was tanked in Lamai last June. The girls though it was great and the next night they gave me another and said "you eat now." I had no idea what they were talking about until they explained it to me that I had eaten one the previous night. Even though I was sober I ate the second one as well.

  7. Having travelled through Attaturk airport a dozen times or more in the last couple of years I can say that I have never had a complaint about the airport or the airport staff there. I found the airport easy to get around and find things in and overall airport staff have been friendly and helpful.

Travelling with Turkish Airlines I have never had a problem but on every trip with them other than my maiden voyage I flew business class. I have also never flown anything longer than what would be considered a regional flight (Istanbul to Zagreb, Istanbul to Budapest, Istanbul to Sarajevo) so it is difficult for me to give an opinion on a flight longer than a couple of hours. I can say that they certainly treated their business class passengers much better than I saw them treat the cattle.

  8. Personally I will stick to Walking St and the surrounding areas

That is your choice but you will never experience anything new if you only stick to what you know.

Its been a while since I walked Metro and maybe time to do it so look out for me tonight Mulphy. If we make it there then will be sure to pop in for one or two. Thanks for the heads up and long time now that I paid it a visited.

Wise choice Hilly and I doubt you will be dissapointed. nice to see you posting here again.

I have stayed on Soi LK Metro on my last two trips. I now really like the area but haven't done a lot of drinking there, yet. I will be staying there again on my next trip (10 days away.. :kissing )

For those who haven't been I would encourage you to go have a look. At the moment the area is quieter than others but that has its advantages. One of the things that I like is that the bars are separate so can have there own music. Also there are some very sexy ladies to be found on this soi.

I agree the area is quieter and well worth the trip for those adventurous enough to stray off the beaten path.

Mulphy did a good job in his post outlining the area. Don't expect Walking St. in ANY fashion. It's quieter, more laid back and not touristy.

Many places have at least a couple of rooms for rent.

Try the Drunken Duck for Kow Pad Gung or Spaghetti Boulanese for 80 Baht. Or the No Name restaurant for a quiet meal.

The Place2Bee has really inexpensive beer.

On Soi Chaiyapoon (off Soi Buakhoa) are 4 or 5 restaurants. My favorite is Neeroy's Bradford Curries. Fish and Chips 99 Baht. (See pic.) Canterbury Tales is good as well. Got a huge Cumberland Sausage dinner there.

Two 7-11's and 2 Family Marts within a block and a half.

Several pharmacies, opticians, gold merchants and clothing stores withing a block.

Beware of Soi Diana at night. It's a race track.

Buses run both directions on Soi Buakhoa. It's easy to get where you're going. Motorbike taxis at both ends of Soi LK Metro as well.

Good description of amenties available in the area and it is well worth the visit.

I've stayed at Keerati Home Stay, eaten at several of the restaurants and visited several bars and both of the ago-go's on Soi LK Metro. It's an up and coming area without a doubt. I've stayed at Jasmine Mansion just around the corner and there are a wealth of good eating and drinking places in the other side streets nearby. I've stayed on or near the place for all of the 3 1/2 months I spent in Pattaya this year. It will never be a Walking Street but it can be a very enjoyable area. A lot of potential in the businesses located in the area I think.

Agree with you about the food in Soi Chaiyapoon. I've had the fish and chips at Canterbury Tales, Neeroys and Seaside and they were all good food at a very reasonable price.

    ~Sa-teef

I've stayed at Metro Apartments and enjoyed my stay very much. There is nothing you need that is not immediately available in the area. :clap2
