  1. Stayed at the Areca so I thought it would easy to book with Mr T which is just across the road. We need a mini van to drop of family members at the old airport and return. The return was just 2 people so asked to change to a car but they did not have a driver returning so had to pay 1500 baht each way for a mini van no problem.   3. Sorry, I have no idea what the name name for this place is, ive always known it has Big Buddha Hill. Took a nice long walk up here a few weeks ago with BM Bazle. Down walking Street, around Bali Hai and the Marina, and then up the hill, around the Weather station and finally made it to Big Buddha.   4. For a month I've heard this blasting out of every beer bar and go go bar from Phuket to Pattaya. I've heard it on Soi 3, Soi 6, Soi 7, Soi 8 and walking street! The dancers go crazy for it.   5. A short review of the Chow Soy rooms. Stayed here for 7 nights a few weeks ago. Rooms are located above the Chow Soy Restaurant(directly across from the Triangle Bar) on Soi Chaiyapoon. Some members on here hate the street, but it has most things you are looking for.   6. Its looks like they have got on a little bit with the new Marina since I was here last year, but it does look like they have stopped for some reason. Very nice restaurant by the lighthouse, it is recommended for the food.

Since cheap booze in and of itself isn't a big attraction for me, I've never had a drink there and can't comment on the bar side of the business.   17. Tonight amidst lots of lightening and thunder from an approaching storm, this monster strike happened a few hundred yards away...note the camera shake when it happens....that was me jumping. Typhoon Nira is moving across Thailand, and just brushed Pattaya with lightening, horrific thunder and rising winds...it rained for about 20 minutes and then passed (we hope) Here is the lightening strike. Notice how soon after the strike you hear the thunder!
