  1. A short review of the Chow Soy rooms. Stayed here for 7 nights a few weeks ago. Rooms are located above the Chow Soy Restaurant(directly across from the Triangle Bar) on Soi Chaiyapoon. Some members on here hate the street, but it has most things you are looking for. Dave (BM Dazsomer123) is the owner of the Chow Soy, and is an all-round really nice guy, but then again, ive known him for around 8 years now. These photos are of Room #7, which is actually on the top floor. Most of the rooms are quite spacious, and all have those huge (42" or bigger) HDTV's. Sophon cable is the no
  2. Its looks like they have got on a little bit with the new Marina since I was here last year, but it does look like they have stopped for some reason. Very nice restaurant by the lighthouse, it is recommended for the food.
  3. There's usually always a lot of debate on just what it takes for a foreigner to purchase property in Thailand. This is a pretty good blogpost from Ajarn.com explaining how it works. http://bit.ly/1hxORlx
  4. Photos taken about 2 weeks ago. Decided to visit the rally sites for the couple of days I were in BKK. The whole area (between Centralworld and Siam) just seemed to be one big street market and party, with the odd shout on the microphone from someone trying to gee up the crowd every now and again.
  5. I always enjoy this trip every time I take it. There is always something new to see whilst cruising down the river. It has to be one of the best trips you can take anywhere in Bangkok, and for only 15 baht per journey, without doubt the cheapest trip to do. Photos taken 28th Jan 2014.
  6. Mikes Mexican Restaurant is now up for sale! Mikes has been in business here in Pattaya for 9 years and he is now planning on retiring back to America. Mikes has a steady flow of loyal customers and is a long time favorite among ex-pats, long term contract workers, and tourists. This is a turn key business opportunity which includes full staff -- which is willing to stay--, full training, as well as full disclosure on all recipes. What makes this such an exciting and lucrative business opportunity is the ability to franchise out! Mike opened his first restaurant in Japan 13 years ago and ha
  7. With all the news about demonstrations in Thailand, is it affecting tourism. I was planning a visits in January, I will probably cancel it if there is a risk of Airport shutdown like 2007 or the red shirts saga in 2010 if I remember. Any comments? I am not asking a political question, I just want to know your opinion whether you think the situation will escalate and spoil vacations

  14. Is there any more of a depressing site in the world other than the check-in area of Swampy? Finally, the observation deck on landside seem's to be open to the public at last. Other times I have tried to access this area, ive never got any higher than the top of the escalator, but this time you can now make it to the top. Not really a lot up there though, apart from a view of the flight apron, the post office/CAT office, and a model of the entire airport complex and perimeter. Photos taken June 2013.
  15. The departure gate is always a depressing sight to me, especially when you now you have to be up and out of the hotel at 05.00am for your flight back home at 08.30am. Taken June 2013. t%202/DSCN1109_zps3dbe825f.jpg[/url]
  16. Not quite sure what the food festival was in aid off, but it did seem to be well attended by Thai's, with very few falangs. If the Thai's are eating there, then the food must be good! Photos taken back in June 2013. Only just got around to posting these now.

  18. Krabi International airport, not the biggest airport in Thailand, but certainly not the smallest that ive been through in LoS. Airport consists of 2 terminals, with terminal 2 being the terminal for THAI, THAI Smile, Bangkok Airways and Air Asia departures, but strangely, only Bangkok Air passengers check in in this terminal, and everyone else has to check in in T1, but luckily there is a covered walk way between the 2 terminals. Landside of both terminal's consist of the usual coffee shops and knick knack tourist shops. Black Canyon(I think that's the one) has free wifi, and a

  21. This must be the biggest market ive ever seen in Thailand dedicated to selling just one thing, Buddha amulets. It seems to follow the road all along the river around the Grand Palace/Wat Po area, and must stretch for at least 1.5 miles in length.
  22. Attn Golfers! Phoenix Golf Course Pool Home now for sale in Huay Yai! 13.95 MB Click Here for more information!
