  1. Best Western Hotel La Corona..................... Located on M.H Del Pilar Street, corner of Arquiza Street, in the Ermita district of Manila. Its on the same street as the very famous Manila bay/L.A cafe, for freelancer heaven( and at midnight, what a heaven it was, i loved it). It is also (literery) a stones throw from the U.S Embassy, and also located very close(within a 3 min walk) to the walkabout hotel and The Southern Cross hotel for the bus service to Angeles. I believe this is one of the cheapest rooms that i could of booked here, but for the price of £45 per night, with a buffet
  2. The Royal Bellagio Hotel, Is located on P.Burgos Street in the Makati district of Manila. Im guessing its around a 20-25 minute ride from the airport, but I would'nt know that, as it took over 1 hour and 45 min for me to get there, as I got stuck in the Chinese New Year traffic slowly moving through he city. Entrance to the hotel is actually located on the 1st floor, so you have to enter the Cubana café, and take the lift up. There is always someone operating the lift, I suppose so no hookers/unwanted guests get up to the rooms. At the end of the day, it is your usual bog st
  3. Intramuros, the old Manila, the original Manila. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intramuros This I s the original city, which the Spanish started to settle in, in the late 16th century. The city walls make for a great walk and a great day out. I purposely stayed in Ermita so I could visit Intramuros on my one free day that I had in Manila, and im so glad that I did. No homeless, no rubbish, no shit and no smell of piss anwhere when you walk around this old walled town. It makes such a pleasant change against the contrast of modern Manila. Ive purposely kept the Fort Santia
  4. A beautiful old fort, with a very chequered past, but a very good day out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Santiago
  5. Just a few photos taken during the daytime. As people have said before, there is nothing to do during the daytime, except maybe going to the Mall, but how many times can you do that during your stay.?
  6. A couple of weeks ago, I flew down to Boracay from Angeles, and spent 7 days in the sun. During the whole time, it only rained once, on and off for 2 hours, and that was the only rain I saw. These are just some of the photos of this beautiful island called Boracay................... Part 1. Not too far from home for some people.......
  7. Bulabag beach on the other side of the island, is meant to be mainly kite surfing, as this is the side of the island that the winds hit first. Its a very narrow beach, and on this day was full of seaweed and other debris that had washed ashore. It doesn't strike me a beach where you could happily sunbath all day long, bit there are a number of high end guesthouses and hotels and resorts on this beach. Anyone know what this fish is called???
  8. Just a few photos from White Beach on Boracay, a couple of weeks ago.
  9. The Greenyard Inn, located in the area of Station 3 on White Beach on Boracay Island. The hotel is sat back slightly from the beach, and in a small local residential area, where the locals are very friendly. On 1 night, they invited me to gamble and play cards with them, but as I had no idea what the game actually was, I declined. Even declining, they still supplied me with beer and rum, and wouldn't take a single peso for it. A number of local house shops and eating places in the local vincinity. The hotel is built over 5 floors I think, and was only renovated 1 year ago. It u
  10. La Teresita Hotel, Angeles City, is located on Elisa Street, and maybe a 7-8 min walk to Walking street, or Fields Ave, whatever you prefer to call it. It is a 4 floor hotel, located in a quiet residential area. When I booked this hotel and mentioned it on the boards, I was advised that it was located in a locals living area, and not ideal to stay in, but, I have to say that the walk from Fields and back again, I had no problems whatsoever with the dimly lit roads or with any of the locals, in fact I felt quite safe, and its safe to say that I will stay here again next year when I get
  11. Taken on Monday evening just gone. I took these photos on my iPhone, so the quality is not quite there, but they don't look too bad. Its quite an impressive take off from Clark airfield in Angeles, and to top it off, a beautiful sunset as well.
