phuket air flight review

Recommended Posts

Well with all the posts mainly bad about Phuket air i thought i would post my views .

Rakit are you paying attetion?

My tuesday flight from LGW left bang on time ,the plane was an ex-klm 747-300 painted in P.A. colours but the klm branding was clear to see all over the inside of the aircraft.

Once airborne the service was pretty good plenty of drinks and the food was real nice -now thats a big compliment from me as my last 4 flights on Eva Air and Sing Air i did not like the food at all.

Have to admit IMHO there was not much diffrence in the comfort stakes compared with the other carriers, what is important is to get a isle seat in the exit row 21H(i think).

We landed in BKK right on time and it was off to pattaya it was whilst i was in pattaya that i read on the board about P.A. changing there schuedle and cutting there flights . A Moment of panic came over me thinking i might be stuck in Los but luckliy my flight home was still on the new schuedle.

Flight home left BKK about 40 mins late not really sure why maybe it was because the plane was parked out in the corner of the runway :eyecrazy ,after take off it was the usual food and drinks and about 6 hours in it was time for our middle eastern pit stop ,now despite what you may of heard the only reason they stop at shaza or what ever its called is to fill up on cheap airline fuel (P.A. do not buy fuel in the uk as its too pricey )after re-fuelling it was take off and back to LGW arriving about 40 mins late !

Would i fly P.A. again -yes but only if the fare was cheap like this one was .

Now a buddy who came out on P.A. was delayed by 8 hours and all he was offered was a £20 voucher to spend on food ,his flight home to england on the 26 of feb has also been scrapped ,now do you think P.A told him about this -NO i did after getting the info from this board 2guns 2guns

Regards

Matty

Matty - cheers... this makes me feel better as there are mixed reviews all over the web and I just hope my trip comes off OK, like yours did. It feels like a lottery and I heard over the grapevine that PA have serious financial problems.

Now - what about that trip report ? :banghead

Rakit i think your comment that Phuket Air is like a "lottery " is spot on and sums them up !!

Yes you are right that P.A have money probs ,word is they cut there back on there uk flights partly due to the tusnamui and also to the forthcoming EU regulations on air travel compesation that Cheshire Tom recently posted about .

Good luck with your flight :eyecrazy
