decisons decisions

moby,

but the jump from £537 to £1450 is just a bit too much for me

The headline price only tells half the story. If you get a carrier with a decent FF programme the real price can come down by around 25-30% by the time you work out the savings on upgrades/silver and gold card benefits etc ......... even access to the lounge is worth a few bob. With Qatar (currently selling biz class at a shade over 1,200 quid incl of taxes etc) they also provide a limo to and from MAN airport for Gold Card holders so you can also save a small fortune on car-parking at the airport.

For economy class from Manchester the only airline that I've flown with that I would now consider is Singapore's non-stop 777ER. Excellent seat pitch, service and in-flight entertainment and the total journey time is not much different from going through Heathrow. Probably the only trip I've made in economy over the last few years that I've actually enjoyed. :nod Oh, and there is the small matter of their trolley dollies to consider! :eyecrazy

For the guys down south Etihad is currently putting brand new aircraft onto both its Gatwick and Bangkok routes so economy and biz are a bit of a bargain at the moment if you don't mind the stopover in Abu Dhabi.

ferocious,

LOL ........ I knew there was something. I've heard good things about the LH Munich service and the Bavarians tend to be a lot friendlier than their northern cousins. :nod Make sure you let us know how the trip goes.

I thought BA had the only flat bed in Club/Business Class, other than Virgin Upper Class.

Now if you had the Emirates Business Class service with the BA Flat Bed.....

I like the limousine service, superior food and cabin service of Emirates.

Alas, no First Class all the way from Bkk to London, so plumped for BA.

Still remember the warm service and excellent food received whilst travelling in Emirates Business Class.

BA tends to be minimalist. Be interesting to see it they ratchet the service up a few notches in First.

Well guys even after all your different posts on either economy or business class I am still totally undecided on what to travel. I worked out last night it will cost around an extra £400 each for me and the missus to fly business with China airlines, I might just bite the bullet and bang it on a credit card! :chogdee2

In recent trips when me and the missus have gone to Pattaya we have always stayed in a run of the mill hotel but now that I am earning good money we both have decided upon staying at the Marriott for just over 3 weeks. I know some people will say why spend money staying their when their is cheaper places to stay, the thing is guys I know it is a top hotel and right plumb in the middle of everything and I do alot of drinking around soi Pattayaland and that is just round the corner. I will only be visiting next Summer instead of my 2-3 normal trips through the year so I want to stay in luxury while I am there!

You are paying over a £1000 on the Marrigrott what's another £800.That's only £2.19 over a year live a little. You can't take it with you.But what ever you do don't pay more than 500 baht LT. :banghead

I would only fly biz class direct.I don't know how anyone can fly cattle class.

cause we dont all have the money to throw away on a pointless luxury when it can mean the difference of going to LOS or not
