  • 1 month later...

My last trip (Nov) I almost wanted to wear earplugs in Living Dolls 1 (along with several other go-go's).

This trip (been in town 2 weeks), I love the music you'r dj plays.

Well done :-)

Alan sir..

Seems like the computer is the way to go, sure there are a few people can set it up for you

But as you were so kind as to ask the punters for their views I would like to give mine.

The bars all seem to do either "car-alarm" or some old rock (Club Nevada in an afternoon for instance)

It is nice to have a bar which would occasionally have a theme night - 60s, 70s, disco etc

Might pull in the punters, and if you have the computer installed, ios pretty cheap to get the MP3 discs from Tuk.com

I dont see that this is such a hard ask ,My reaction would be go retro and do the 70s-80s disco thing ,all the top 10s from that era would be reasonable to listen too and are made to dance too, so, problem solved .Or am I just an optomist .

Forget the DJ and switch to acid tabs at the door and Pink Floyd's Pulse on a 60" LCD all day every day :D.

OK, got that outta the way. Unless the DJ is a good draw for the club, mp3's on shuffle is a great way to go.

I don't think I'd really like to hear most of these songs, but they are appropriate for gogos. All have been published, but I'm not sure they have all been recorded, although most have.

The number one, all-time most appropriate song for a gogo bar customer is:

Last Night I Went to Bed with a "10" and Woke this Morning with a "2"

by Willie Nelson

followed,in no particular order, by:

Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw

by Jimmy Buffett "All the Great Hits"

I Bought the Shoes that Just Walked Out on Me

By Joe C. Simpson (BMI)

Get Off the Table, Mabel (The Two Dollars is for the Beer)

by Bull Moose Jackson

I Kissed Her On the Lips, and Left Her Behind for You

by Scott Orr

Feelin' Single and Seein' Double

by Emmy Lou Harris (Elite Hotel album) - written by Wayne Kemp (BMI)

(maybe this one I should suggest to Cerberus)

I Would Have Wrote You A Letter, But I Couldn't Spell !!*@!" ,

by Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs (same guys who hit it big with Wooly Bully. It came out in 1968 and was their last Top 40 song.)

She Got The Gold Mine And I Got The Shaft

by Jerry Reed (there's an alternate version called She Got The Ring And I Got The Finger )

If Fingerprints Showed Up On Skin, Wonder Whose I'd Find On You.

by Freddie Hart (BMI)

Get Your Tongue Out Of My Mouth, Because I'm Kissing You Goodbye.

(also the title of a 1993 book by Playboy magazine columnist Cynthia Heimel.)

You're Not Free & I'm Not Easy

written by Herb Coleman & Robert Morrison (ASCAP)

Feelin' Single and Drinkin' Doubles

Written by Donald Fagan & Johnnie Masters (BMI)

Very Good, Evil! I'm impressed!

One that I wouldn't want to hear is "Sleeping Single In A Double Bed."

Barbara Mandrel, back in the late 70's.

Not good for Pattaya!

Maybe I should revise my OP. A poster on another board mentioned "Who let the dogs out," that classic one-hit wonder that is otherwise associated with professional baseball in the U.S. It is probably the most appropriate gogo bar song. If it doesn't describe the girls, it describes the customers, so it has universal applicability.
