Yes can help you there-one friend had two implants done at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital in July 2008 and they were 62,200 baht each.

 

BP hospital tends to be expensive.

Be mindful that implants cannot be done on a two week holiday. You'll need something like 6 months for them to set and several progress checkups before you get the final dentures.

Implants are cheaper in the states plain and simple. So get them done where you live so if you have any problems you can see the local person who did it and not have to go to Thailand.

Not cheaper where I live, but not worth the extra effort of getting them done in LOS either. I am considering a bridge instead, as the cost of implants here is just too high in this economy... Thanks for the info!

sensei, look at going to Costa Rica for dental implants. They seem to be about a third of the cost of the US. Here is an e-mail address www.healthbase.com you can check out. I can't vouch for their legitimacy, or anything else for that matter, but it is just something I found while perusing the 'net as I am contemplating getting full implants myself. Hope it helps.

Hi, try www.dental4youpattaya.com/fee.html . They can do an implant in 2 weeks with a small anchor [ if that is what it is called] but for a regular implant they reccomend 2 months healing before clipping on. Good excuse to return

How about bridge work? (3 crowns to fill a missing tooth) Any experiences and cost? I know these are much cheaper in LOS. Thanks

 

 

Costa Rica is a no go... I can not get away there...no excuse, if you know what I mean. Thailand or US for me.

Sensei-don't know where you live in America but I have lived in Vegas, Florida, and have family in the mid west and daughter in Chicago and all of them have places for dental implants for $800 to $1000. That's like half of what it is in Thailand according to what Chivas. 62,200 baht equals about $1830 US for one tooth. I have never seen them this high in the states but I have seen them this high in Thailand. Was even told by a Thai dentist at the aforemention Bnagkok Pattaya Hosp. to have it done it the state cause it was cheaper.

Implants here in NY are 2500 and up...(and up are the key words...)

Just bumping this thread to the front page to see if I can get any additional or recent info on Dental Bridges.

 

Looking for recommendations and costs. Recently had a tooth pulled and the new gap is bugging the hell out of me

Bridges are no more than a few thousand baht at the most. Under no circs go above 5,000 for a one-toother and that would be very expensive to me.

 

There is no shortage of recommendations for Pattaya dentists that I won't argue with because I live in Bangkok.

Another caveat to be considered is make sure you have enough bone to support the implant.

This is confirmed using X rays.

Without sufficient bone, the implant will loosen and come out.

 

I would strongly urge anyone considering implants in Thailand to make sure your home dentist says your a good candidate.

Correct me if I'm wrong.... but I thought that an implant is where you have the dentist "implants" into the bone below the gum line where the missing tooth came from. While a bridge only requires that you have an original tooth on either side of where the old tooth was pulled from and then a "bridge" is placed over the two remaining teeth and the gap to hold a new fake tooth in place.

 

And is this something that most any dentist could do or does it require a specialist. FYI: I am having the basic work done by Dr Aree at Pattaya Hospital on Soi 4 (cleaning, a filling and the extraction) but I'm looking for basic info on bridges before I go back to see her for the remainder of the work.
