Booked the Eastiny Inn for two weeks Paid for one day to confirm the booking. Return comfirmation states that the full two weeks is expected to be paid on checking in on arrival. As anyone stayed there and is this the norm at this hotel. My plans could change.

Stayed ther but cannot remember anything about the payment. Its a good enough hotel rooms a bit small but whats it for only sleeping and shagging. Anyway back to the payment just insist that you travel alot and not used to this and will only pay on departure it usually works for me and as you suggest it gives you the flexibility if you want to move on. Remember there is a lot of competition out there at present and they should be glad of trade Although this is Thailand!

Have a good trip anyway.

Obviously there are different scenarios for different BMs. My experience with the "group" was that they wanted , and cashed, the whole lot up front. They then proceeded to be proper A'holes with extra charges for this that and the other including the extra visitor rip-off. :allright Was a while back tho', and have never returned since ! :allright

Flippers in the same vicinity are a much better option IMHO. :beer

They want the payment up front because so many say fuck that place after they've experienced a night or two and leave for a better room else where.

Don't pay for the entire stay up front, pay as you go would be good enough. The Flipper Inn and the Flipper Lodge and many others are a short walk away from the front entrance of Estiny Inn. Don't be bullied by a 3rd world front desk clerk.

I wouldn't pay it all up front either, just make some excuse that you only have enough baht to pay for 2 days, will pay the rest later and you don't use a credit card. I've never had a problem doing this in Pattaya. You don't say when you are going, just got back from Pats the end of July and Flipper on Soi 8 was the only hotel on Soi 8 that had their summer special signs out, something like pay for 4 nights get one free and so on. I would check that out.

Stayed at the Eastiny Place last month, changed a little since I last stayed there years ago, some good, but mostly bad, so I am going to pass on that. I would imagine it should be getting noisy from construction at the Sunshine on Soi 8, since they tore the real old wing down and were preparing to put the foundation in. Anyone have any update on that?
