Won't post it and not sure if it's a wonder but when I was a kid working on my bike in the garage, "Killing me Softly" was playing on all three of the 'cool' stations at the same friggin' time. I couldn't get away from her...........

Outdated sad old pensioners,,,good for the nostalgy... I can understand.it ...but not for me....I look better forward.... ( OK.. to be honest... when I was young even then, they were more noise for me

I'm sure many people in the Uk are familiar with this………But forgive me, living in Thailand, I wasn't….. Today I entered another youtube wormhole and came across it.   I'm not sure why I filled up

The energy and skills of this guy seem quite amazing to me.   http://youtu.be/lhY6uIvt6yg

I liked 'Happy Together' …… it was so catchy……..Still is.

At the time 'Itichycoo Park' and the Small Faces seemed quirky and lightweight to yours truly………I recognize I was just being a snob. Hearing it now evokes great memories. Music was all over the place coming at you from a new direction almost monthly. Inspired by blues, folk, country, rock, India, soul, ska, classical and the Archies!

Fashions came and went in weeks. I remember my uncle on noticing one of my more colourful sartorial statements saying' "atlas lad, when you look back one day you'll realize what a wanker you looked."

He was right….but what fun it all was.

I consider myself very lucky to be born when and where I was……..I won the lottery.

England….. post Empire, post war, post national service ...allowed a fortunate generation to go for it. Art schools threw out Lennon, Clapton, The Kinks and a allowed a 100 other bands to get together.

We all envied most things American but not the draft.

We had The Beatles, Stones, Cream, The World Cup, Carnaby St, Twiggy, James Bond, political sex scandals…….and even a few dentists.

But most of all it was the music ……..All those memories unlocked and represented just now ….. by 'Itchycoo Park' Who'd a thought?

Here's another song, that like Itchycoo I paid no attention to at the time... but it sums up how anything went back then and why not?

Could do with more of that type of freedom nowadays…..Anyway Keith Moon being 'Keith Moon' was always fun.

I was looking for the chords to "Wake me up before you Go Go'

And came across this…….

I tell you with all the bad news and reasons to rant something like this is reassuring ……..There was a moment when I actually filled up. God knows why!!

Worth a watch through……..honest.

I had tickets too see this lady years back at The Festival Hall…..but something came up at work and I had to give them away……… I think she's dead now.

Anyway, I've a playlist of beach/Bossa nova music……… Goes well with singha, sun and palm-trees. 'Aven't a clue what she's singing about but it doesn't seem to matter.

OK she's got face like Dot Cotton licking piss off a nettle………. But such a voice!
