Outdated sad old pensioners,,,good for the nostalgy... I can understand.it ...but not for me....I look better forward.... ( OK.. to be honest... when I was young even then, they were more noise for me

I'm sure many people in the Uk are familiar with this………But forgive me, living in Thailand, I wasn't….. Today I entered another youtube wormhole and came across it.   I'm not sure why I filled up

The energy and skills of this guy seem quite amazing to me.   http://youtu.be/lhY6uIvt6yg

Billy Joel receives the Gershwin Prize for 2014 at the Library of Congress...this is a performance of Piano Man, hosted by Kevin Spacey....as one person who viewed this said, "Is there anything Keven Spacey can't do?"

That was good.

Didn't recognise anyone apart from: Billy, Spacey and the bloke in the wig.

Who was the guy in the hat? He could belt one out……….Sometimes, as with Spacey the conviction matters more than the voice.

I love this award and there's another one similar. I'll check the whole thing out.

I'm aware that this thread isn't paid much attention too and ignored by most visitors. Can't blame anyone interested in the Pattaya scene for that…..

However what I'm posting here is a gift to you all.

I listened to this live on BBC radio. I taped it and played it a lot over the years in my car. When I came to Thailand I had it transferred to CD.

It's wonderful but has never been released. Kamen was planning on doing so but those plans were shattered when Eric Clapton's son Conner fell from that window in New York…….And Eric regrouped alone with his nylon strung guitar……. Not long after Kamen died so that was that.

This live recording from it's debut at the Albert Hall is all we have of their collaboration.

It's a tour through American music. Even though Eric extemporises in parts….There are other parts he had to learn precisely. He can't read music so it's quite a feat.

I found it beautiful.

I can only post the site I got this from and you can read more and listen to the sound cloud.

It's a good chunk of music but worth the effort. Hope some of you have a listen.

I've come late to Ed Sheeran……...

Saw him at the Grammys and with Beyonce at the Stevie Wonder tribute and thought he's the real deal……..

There's a danger that he might even make ginger coooool. Backed by John Mayer on guitar and Herbbie Hancock trying to be originally discordant on 'lead piano'…..

http://youtu.be/t5xJvr5JFMY

And here he is……..eventually………with the wonderful Beyonce and later Gary Clark…….

I love the way, (I think it's Jaimie Fox) at 3.45….seems to say to himself after initially reserving judgement ….."This honky ain't complete shit!!"

I was impressed by your Ed Sheeran recordings. Ed Sheeran was previously unknown to me, but I have added him now to my music list . He is a great talent and should make it right to the top. :thumbup

In case you're not aware of it though i suspect you are…...

They made an album together called 'Neck and Neck'………About half the songs on it are brilliant.

This comedy routine is so good……."Chet…….you never gon'a get…….to play that wok and woll"

Their guitars do the best talking.

I prefer the record tracks as I can't look at Chet and not think George Bush.
