Intown Holiday Hotel  Avoid !

Recommended Posts

Avoid this place.

People are getting ill by swimming in the pool, ear infections etc.

The air con is very bad leaking some chemicals & gases everyone is getting ill.

Also food poisioning from the restaurant & room service.

Staff stealing from rooms.

The lift broke down with someone stuck for 2 hours.

Fire escapes all locked.

The staff do not care when you complain.

Staff also starting to hassle the girls.

I have checked out.If you are there do the same.

Avoid at all costs.

Hi Mad_Dog1

Somehow I find your remarks hard to believe, as I know many people who has had a very nice stay there, with none of the problems you mention. Also very recently.

But of course things can go downhill fast but seems strange.

Best wishes

Stayed there (with mates, had 3 rooms) for 10 nights in November without any problems for only 550baht a night, we even left our gear in the rooms and shot off to Ko-Samet for a few days, our usual hotel on previous trips was the High Five but after seeing the state of it I refused to stay there(thank god as it caught fire recently) and went to the Intown.

MAD_DOG1 is right the Intown has gone down hill.I have stayed there 10 times but I moved out today.I loved this place all the staff know me but there is a big problem.I think the manager might have changed & they are having problems with their staff. They are not maintaining the pool or the air con & people are getting sick.I also found stuff missing from my room. It's a real shame as it was a great place.I would not stay there again.

I do not know why you have a problem with Intown, but it seems you should see a doctor instead of wasting our time.

Can only agree with Thaidane, I stayed there 6 weeks from end of October to mid December and could see nothing of the trouble that Mad_Dog mentions.

Though, it is a little run down, but it is clean and the best you get at that price I would say.

If I am on a budget again, I will stay there again..., well maybe if I'm not on a thight budget as well  8)

I had 2 friends that stayed there over Christmas and New Years. The reason they booked the Intown was because they were having trouble making reservations at their regular hotel because of 'high season'. They both mentioned that they like the hotel and would book again in April. I went by to meet them one afternoon and the place looked good to me, and the price they were paying wasn't to bad either.

I have to agree with some of the others, it hard to believe the place went down hill that fast in less than 2 weeks.

I also notice that this is MAD_DOG1 first post to the board. Also the only person to agree with him, PORN_FUCKER, is also posting for the first time.  That what I would do, join the FLB site just to complain about a hotel that most think is OK.

I stayed there twice in Oct./Nov. on the advice of a friend who was just completing a two-month stay there, and neither of us had any problems. Great price and location, and no staff trouble of any kind  - I'd stay there again any time.

  • 2 weeks later...

I stayed at the Intown Holiday Hotel last December. I only went there because my other favourite places were booked out also.

I had to pay 700 baht per night, which I believe is more than what is normally charged. They took advantage of the high season with many places booked out.

The staff at the counter is very unfriendly. At one stage they insisted on full payment for the duration of my stay in advance (6 weeks). I objected and they then agreed to accept payment on a weekly basis.

The tiled floors in the walkways outside the rooms are very noisy with revellers coming home late at night.

The hot water system in the bath tubs didn't work to well and the bar fridge was not big enough to allow for additional drink or food.

On the plus side, the rooms were clean and the friendly room maid let me sleep in until 3-4 in the afternoon. I tipped her 100 baht per week. The two elevators worked well. I stayed on the 7th floor.

I will not use the the Intown Holiday Hotel again. Soi 11 between Second Road and Soi Buakoa is a depressing sort of a lane.

For 700 baht I can get much better value elsewhere.

Depressing soi ? I would like my place in Farangland to be so lively, hot, fascinating and worth of thinking of it every minute

Bad hotel ? I always stay there when in Pattaya and except for the hot water system which is not very good, I have nothing bad against it. I especially love the swimming pool which gets beautiful views all over Pattaya.

Just a little worried about the noise which could come from the new beer bars which were being built last November ...
