Perfect Pattaya Hotel - help please

Recommended Posts

I'm getting picky on hotels again and hope you guys can fill in some of the gaps so that I can choose the best hotel for my upcoming trip.

Stayed at the Residence Garden a few times. Many good things about this hotel but a few downers. It has no bathtub (which I would like) and its location can become wearsome after a few days, with multiple trips back and forth each day. Also, the food is not good. However, I still class it as very good, especially through the FLB at Bt1350.

Here's a list of requirements, both absolute and desirable.

In room electronic safe - absolutely must have. Location - nearer to Walking St than RG, not Soi 2, preferably around Soi 13/14 ish.

Pool - should have.

Balcony - preferable.

Bathtub - would be nice, but shower imperative.

Clean - no shit holes please.

Price - up to about Bt1500 per day.

Of all the above, it MUST have the electronic safe, so if you guys know one, please post it up.

Thanks.

PS, was going to stay in Sandy Spring but alas, no in room safe !

Can you elaborate on the "safe that you supply the lock for ?. What is that if you already have an electronic safe ?

Also, their website http://www.timbarbeer.com/ shows the rooms in a real bad light. Are they really that bad and how much are they, if you remember.

Thanks

Tim's isn't a upscale hotel. What you asked for won't be found there.

I'm also looking for an really good hotel around soi 13, 1500  +/-. Sandy seems nice but they only have bathtubs, no shower.

Before I've stayed at RG and Sabai Lodge, both several times. RG is "way off" but excellent rooms, Sabai Lodge is central enough but a bit small rooms.

Ling,

So Sandy Spring only has a bath tub.  That is surprising to me!  You mean they don't even have one of those detachable shower heads that you hold in your hand while directing the water flow?  Man, in this hurry up world who has time for a bath, except with certain invited friends.

That was what they told me, I asked the question twice and only the Suites has showers. But those are booked during christmas  ???

I guess someone which has stayed there can clear up what kind of bathroom equipment they have.

A shower is a must, saves time and easy to get the TG in and out of  ;D

there were 2 safes...one electronic...one i had to supply a lock...both secured.

here is a better (though not much) web site

http://timbarbeerpattaya.com/

room was 700/night....stayed there about 3 1/2 weeks

room was very big....with big bed - standard size fridge....A/C and fan....friendly staff - no hassles with girls

on the bad side...no phone and no restaurant....no phone was no problem for me...and can walk across the street to Lek hotel for buffet breakfast for 85 baht or about one block away to Kiss restaurant

rooms without jacuzzi are even cheaper,,,,about 400 baht per night...there are only about 20 rooms total

Try the residence garden, I paid 1350 a night.  I'll never stay at another hotel, great hotel at a great price. You won't be disappointed.

I've stayed there, as I said, but I was just looking to see whether I could find similar facilities near Soi13/4 as the food in the RG is not so good and the location is sometimes a bit far out.

How about the Penthouse? I've never stayed there but it looks like a cool place, it is on soi 13/4.  I'm not sure if they have inroom safes but excellent location.  I always request a room on the top floor, less noise.

good luck

I'm looking for the same things as torrenova for my November trip so I hope some members will come up with some possibilities.

Anyone know if the new Dynasty Inn meets the above requirements?

Hey torrenova, when are you going?

Re the Penthouse question, Penthouse is really a 1 or 2 night porn star experience, personally I don't like it at all, is small, feels like a major fire danger, smells, the rooms are ordinary except for the novelty value..... but I did not see the really big party room.  Should probably book elsewhere and drop around for a look would be my advice.

Sorry I should have mentioned re Sandy Spring, I have never stayed there but currently have a booking, I have read on this forum and a few others very good reviews.  If you look on their website the suite bathroom has a bathtub.... with shower attachment like almost all hotels in Pattaya and a walk in shower.  My guess is all bathtubs have the shower as this is standard and it's the suites only that have walk-in shower.  I think thats the confusion.

Code Monkey,

No pool at the Dynasty Inn, but you could always use the one on the roof of Mike's Mall nearby, maybe find some available talent.

Emil

Thanks Emil,

That's a definite possibility! I've never been with a non-working girl in Thailand so it could be very interesting if I manage to pick up!

Even if I don't end up staying at the Dynasty Inn, I will have to check Mike's Mall.... ;D

torrenova,

Ma Maison on Soi 13 has everything you're after (including in-room safes).   They have mini-suites that look to be a good deal at around Bt1,000 per night.

Thanks for the info. Will probably walk in on my tour and see the facilities from ground level.
