Chatuchak weekend market, Bangkok.

Recommended Posts

Visited Chatuchak weekend market a few months back. Its an interesting place to visit, full of strange sights and some nice and some not so nice smells. Be warned it is bloody hot inside this market, and carri=ying a bottle of water all the time is a must.

Don't underestimate the photos, this market is RAMMED full of people, mainly Thai's with a few farang mixed in.

Its a very easy place to find. Take the BTS to Morchit station, down the stairs and just follow the throng of people. If you cant stand crowds, this is not the place for you.

Yes I have been too and managed to find a few things to bring home.

It can be a very tiring experience, crowds in Thailand are hard work if you are the 'always in a hurry Western type'.....

I think I found a place in the middle to sit down and have a cold one but then you are in need of a bathroom.

The girlfriend will love it... you may not. :D

  • 3 weeks later...

Its almost a pleasure to get to from Pattaya, on the bus from north Pattaya bus station to Ekkamai, about 120 baht, outside of the bus station up the stairs to Ekkamai BTS and a direct run on the skytrain to Mo chit and the market about 40 baht.

Be hard nosed on buying souvenirs as they do the Farang Thai prices.
