Looking forward to checking this place out on my January trip. Hope they are open by then.

They were well into the interior fit out as well as the exterior façade. My guess would be early December.

But you are wrong again. Because you know nothing about what is currently happening in Pattaya. But that does not stop you from trying to be the source of wisdom.

Jack

N.E.P...... Walking Street (ish)............. Soi LKM......... Nah, I don't think it's gonna happen.

Amethyst is now open, there is a connection with members of ex-Angelwitch management.

I went in on Sunday and it bears a lot of resemblence to Angelwitch even down to the style of uniforms the girls wear. I was in there early so didn't see any shows but I understand from someone else that these come on later in the evening.

Cheers

Not sure if the association with the Pattaya, Soi 15 place would be beneficial or not.

I don't think much of the Angelwitch there.

Not sure if the 'shows' and overpriced beer would catch on in soi LK!

Looking forward to a review.

Ah so there's no Angelwitch on Soi LKM yet just a new bar called Amethyst.

When's the new Angelwitch opening Jack?

Being dense again I see. This is what the OP asked (if you had bothered to read it)

He clearly knew that it might not be under the Anglewitch name and he was right but as we have all read and have known for some while this place is associated with Angle witch even if the name is different. I hope that this clears the matter up.

I was right too. It's called Amethyst not Angelwitch or "Angle witch."

BM tallguy says "there is a connection with members of ex-Angelwitch management." How does some ex Angelwitch Staff working at/owning Amethyst make it anything but a new Agogo called Amethyst?

Sounds like they are trying to imitate Angelwitch to me, that's all. Anybody can do that.

Actually the people that are in Pattaya are aware that it is called Amethyst as the name has been up there for some while. If however you say that it has nothing to do with Angelwitch then I suppose that this must be 100% the truth because you know all oh Oracle!

I'm waiting for BM Samsonite to weigh in here. He apparently knows everything about Angelwitch.

In fact, as I seem to recall, he opined that the Amethyst gogo is being setup by Pim, the ladyboy partner of the German, Matt, who were the original owners of Angelwitch BKK.

Angelwitch was subsequently sold (both BKK and Pattaya) to new owners, so any involvement by Pim in the Amethyst venture is not directly associated with Angelwitch, anymore than PattayaPete's venture at the Pattaya Beer Garden has anything to do with FLB.

One only needs to read Idefix's excellent 'Agogos News' thread to know that. Over the past

nine months or so he has chronicled in photos the closure of Mash Agogo and the opening of Amethyst Agogo as follows.......

That is correct.

A Thai business partner is required under Thai law for most, but not all, foreign "owned" businesses. The post-op ladyboy was the Thai business partner of the original German owner (founder) of the AngelWitch in Bangkok and Pattaya. It was the German's money and business acumen that made the AngelWitch a success. He also owned the AngelWitch name separately and outright (no Thai involvement required there) and sold the name to the new owners.

Rumor has it, and this was alluded to in Stickman's most recent column, that the former Thai business partner has poached as much as 70-80% of the staff of the Pattaya AngelWitch.

Here you go. From, http://www.stickmanbangkok.com/StickmanWeeklyColumn2013/Bangkok-Escorts.htm

International footballers and gogo bar dancers have a few things in common. Their careers are relatively short and each has a limited time to earn the big bucks. The highest paid are those with the most sponsors. Neither are particularly loyal and they can each be quite mercenary, choosing to work for whomever is the highest bidder. However, whereas international footballers have contracts specifying where they work and restricting they can transfer to another, gogo dancers are free to pursue the best deal and can up and leave at any time - and many do. Bar owners can do little about the dancers' lack of loyalty, a situation that has become an issue now that it is more difficult to hire staff than ever before. Down in Pattaya there could be repercussions with word that a soon to open bar in Soi LK Metro has raided the ranks of an existing bar with unconfirmed talk that as many as a staggering 80% of the dancers could jump ship, along with some other key staff. The issue is complicated by the fact that the owner of the new bar was, up until 2½ years ago, the owner of the old bar. I reckon the owners of the bar which has been raided have every right to be furious.

Someone mentioned the "OLD" Mash. It hasn't been open long enough to be called old. When they were renovating that building, it looked to me like they poured a lot of money into that place.
