Please keep your political/economic diatribe confined to the BUST thread. That way, your endless rants won't intrude into areas where they are of no interest.

Hi,   The bankers are behind the unrest in Ukraine. They know they are BUST and are trying to fight back. The bankers are on the back foot. The Russians are not pumping loads of money into the marke

I have a friend who has predicted the imminent demise of the greenback since early 1980. He managed to lose 30% in the gold market last year.

I just saw a Russian dude in a wooden baseball style cap walking across second road trying to hold up traffic for his group as they crossed by holding up his arm and waving at cars to stop.

Darwin would have been fascinated.

One of my favourite daytime activities is to sit in a bar on 2nd road opposite Mike shopping and watch the people walking over the crossing with their hand held aloft for the traffic to stop. I have visions of specially designed body bags at the morgue with extensions for the outstretched arm

If that were the case I know a few girls who'd fit snugly in Y shaped coffins………… And one Board member who if you gave him an enema could be buried in a match-box!!

  • 7 months later...

The Ruble lost 1/4 of its value % THB this years,

and lost 1/3 of its value % THB in 5 years... :o

It continues to fall very fast last 3 months...

... to the point we may soon see many Russian condo for re-sale ?...

While the re-sale market is a big issue... the bigger issue is who will buy all of these new units popping up all over Jomtien.

Well the Russians can offer a decent discount and get their money back :bhappy

No resale issue, everything sells at the right price :bhappy

I'm expecting condo prices to slump big-time in a couple of years with all this oversupply.

unless gambling is legalized...but that'll never happen...right?

Condo is one word, some will slump others will rise as all property location location... I am sure you will get one on the second road Jomtien for a cheap price.... most would not want for nothing..

Dont bank on Northshore dropping though :bhappy

They do seem to have returned in numbers after a quiet period last month or so.

I'm not sure what snow in Serbia would have to do with it.

Don't many Russians change US Dollars instead of Rubles ? I have seen lots of Russians changing USD.

The ones who have USD are the ones who can still afford to come to Pattaya.

Ah, was Thurs night your regular bar hopping outing?

BTW, the latest report in RhinoTusk's Koh Chang TR says that the Amari Koh Chang is mostly filled with Russians. These are not budget rooms, by any means, so they are still here spending money...extravagantly it seems.

Geography wasn't one of your preferred subjects when you went to school?

Actually no, dropped it after second year to pursue a more scientific orientation.

Saying that I don't do too badly, my subsequent travels refreshed my knowledge.

All Geography taught me back in 1966 was Oz was full of sheep! I do know Austria and Australia are different places now.

In partial defense of Jacko, at least it does snow in Serbia.

Serbia is a traditional ally of Russia, so Russians might holiday there. Also it is a beautiful place, or used to be.

It does snow there, but compared with Moscow it's tropical.

Now you know.
