I recently sold the Fatboy in my avatar for nearly twice what I paid for it. Not customised at all, but a collectors piece nonetheless. I also nearly did a silly thing, and almost bought the 103 Soft-tail pictured above, before being talked out of it by the missus. Nearly 1700cc of motorbike engine on a big heavy bike is to quote a movie " No place for old men"! :uh-uh: To be honest I was struggling a bit with the Fatboy, last time I gave it a run.

Back in the old days a group of us would go on a nice long ride on Sunday afternoons. I was seriously thinking about buying a Harley Sportster to fit in better with the boys. They made fun of my Honda rice burner. Sanity got the best of me and I ended up with a BMW shaft drive. I fondly remember the guys wanting to swap their Harley with me just until the next gas stop or until the feeling came back to their numb hands. Those little Harley gas tanks did not give the hogs much range. The BMW had a huge ugly gas tank but I could ride several weeks with one tankful. I ever had the desire for a huge heavy bike of any brand. If my bike fell over, I wanted to be able to stand it back up myself.

First, thanks for sharing those pictures!! Those models are HOT!!! Girls and Bikes :).

I always found it interesting to show your rebellious individualistic attitude you buy the most popular motorcycle and ride in a particular manufacturer group where bikes looked and sounded similar... and of course wear the 'uniform.'

For my solo cross continental rides across the USA and Canada, I significantly modified my bikes and removed all identification to where unless you knew the motor, you'd not recognize the manufacturer. For some day rides, I was asked to join some groups without prejudice.

Regardless, as long as you rode and did not trailer your bike to various rallys like Sturgis or Laughlin, you were respected by fellow 'riders.'

And if I ever use a "chaser" truck, I'd load it up with these girls!! ...might need a big RV chaser too :).

Keep the rubber side down!

Two experts discuss Harleys. :D

The inventor of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Arthur Davidson, died and went to heaven.
At the gates, St. Peter told Arthur . 'Since you've been such a good man and your motorcycles have changed the world, your reward is, you can hang out with anyone you want to in heaven.'
Arthur thought about it for a minute and then said, ' I want to hang out with God.
St. Peter took Arthur to the Throne Room, and introduced him to God.

God recognized Arthur and commented, 'Okay, so you were the one who invented the Harley-Davidson motorcycle? ' Arthur said, 'Yeah, that's me...'
God commented: 'Well, what's the big deal in inventing something that's pretty unstable, makes noise and pollution and can't run without a road?'
Arthur was a bit embarrassed, but finally spoke, 'Excuse me, but aren't you the inventor of woman?'

God said, 'Ah, yes.'
'Well,' said Arthur , professional to professional, you have some major design flaws in your invention !

1. There's too much inconsistency in the front-end suspension.

2. It chatters constantly at high speeds.

3. Most rear ends are too soft and wobble about too much.

4. The intake is placed way too close to the exhaust.

5. The maintenance costs are outrageous!!!!

'Hmmmmm, you may have some good points there,' replied God, 'hold on.'
God went to his Celestial supercomputer, typed in a few words and waited for the results.
The computer printed out a slip of paper and God read it.

'Well, it may be true that my invention is flawed,' God said to Arthur , 'but according to these numbers, more men are riding my invention than yours'.

In Thailand it's just a fashion accessory to women. Almost none of them will ever know what it's really like to be a biker gal.

They sure look good pretending to ride them, though.

Hi,

The Italians were in town recently to play England. I saw 3 of the most beautiful Harleys the morning after as the fans headed back home.
