Sabai Lodge vs Flipper Lodge

Recommended Posts

Well I'm getting ready to go back for my 3rd visit. On the first two trips I stayed at the RG and Sabai Lodge. I liked both but I'd give the edge to Sabai for location and the RG for the better room. In both cases I paid around 1300 baht a night. I was at the RG during low season and Sabai over Christmas.

The next trip will be from 4/11 till 4/20. Yep, I'm flying right into the middle of the water fight that the Thai's call New Years. But it is the only time that will work into my work schedule and what the heck, who is afraid of a "little" water ::)

I don't want to stay at the RG on this coming trip because I think 1300/night is a good value during the high season but a little steep in the low season and again I just don't like the hassels of getting home at night. I got a response to my email from Sabai Lodge that the "deluxe" room will only be 1150 during the off season and I think that I could get them down to 1000 if I offer to book now and stay for my entire 7 days with them.

But I'm also considering the Flipper Lodge. I like the location and I'm intriged by the in-house massage service. Can someone tell me if the rooms are that much different from the Sabai Lodge, are the massage girls very good looking, and am I a fool to be thinking about a room on Soi 8 in the middle of a water war? The price of the room would drop from 1100 (Sabai) to around 800 at the Flipper.

Advice?

I've stayed at both places Sabai Inn and Flipper Lodge. I now try and stay at the Flipper because I like the in room massage (yea I'm lazy) 300 for the massage and 500 to the girl for full service. I'm starten to get a hard on (I'm 56 and it ain't easy) thinking about URAI my favorite massage girl. The room's are the same quality. Enjoy. ;D ;D ;D   4 days

Shilo,

The rooms at the Sabai Inn are larger and better than the Lodge and you have access to all the joint facilities including the pools at the Inn.

You should be able to get a superior room for 900 Baht up to 30 April or 800 Baht thereafter.  Standard room is 800/700 Baht for the same dates.  Standard rooms have no bathtub (shower only), hairdryer or coffee making facilities, otherwise they are identical.  Ask for an outside room (they have inside rooms where the window is onto the corridor - kinda strange setup).

E-mail is sabaiinn@loxinfo.co.th.  The manager is K. Supaporn - a nice lady.  PM me if you want any further info.

Regards,

Tom

I stayed at the Flipper House in Nov/Dec.  Liked the rooms and location.  The in-room massage was great but got a different girl each time :).  On the second one I requested the girl from the first day but got a different one than the one I wanted :'(.  Tried one more time for the first girl but again got a different one.  Fortunately she was even better than the first ;D.  I especially recommend it after a long flight.

How late is the full "massage" sevice available?

I'll reach Pattaya at about 5am in the morning...

If the hotel service is not avaialble, what are my options for lay at that time of day/night...presemably the BBs and Gogos will have long closed.

Thanks.

akr100,

I've never been out looking at 5 AM but 1 time I departed my hotel on Soi 8 for the airport at that time and it was pretty dead.  If your that anxious to find someone so soon after arriving in Thailand I would suggest staying in Bangkok otherwise get a good sleep in Pattaya upon checking in at your hotel and begin your quest in the early afternoon.

I have stayed at Flipper a thought it was great, although the beds are a bit on the hard side....... got sore knees.  Call me stupid, but the massage girls, are they the girls in the little shop next to the elevator or do they come from somewhere else.  I was there for about 10 days and obviously completly missed this.  Thanks..........

Hi Flash,

The Flipper Lodge has two lifts but the shop with the massage girls is close to both lifts. It's a little salon that does beauty treatment, manicures, etc, next to the small clothes shop.

You must have been either too inebriated or too pre-occupied with your girlfriend/s, (or both  ;D) to have missed the girls.

I must say that the massage girls make for a great late morning or early afternoon snack!!

Yes, Flash,

You must of had other things on your mind. Code Monkey is right on. You can miss them. Every time I would go to either lift, they would smile and ask if I needed a message. Early one afternoon I had come back from a little shopping and couln't turn down the offer. I just told her my room number and to give me about 10 minutes. The next hour is now history.

The same service is offered at the Flipper House. The place is back a little ways down from the lift. It is a nice way to start off the afternoon.

Well it looks like I got my room at the Flipper Lodge. But they were only able to set me up with a city view room instead of the sea view room that I had requested.

But a few questions on the massage services:

When do the girls start and when do they finish? I will be getting into Pattaya at about 2am and would love a good massage along with the extras on that first night.

How many girls do they generally have working at any given time? And does the selection increase at different times of the days?

And lastly, if you find one that you like, is there a bar fine type option to take her out for say dinner and a movie?

Shilo on your doorstep there are 1000s of beautiful ladies, dont worry about the massage girls i thought they were pretty ugly anyway, just walk out the door cross the road (about 10 ft wide) there is a bar complex right there in front of you ,and to the left more and to the right more most are open all night just the lights off ok

Thanks guys,  I did say call me stupid, I was at Flipper House...... but you guys were also right, I was both distracted and inebriated :-[

I know the topic is Sabai Vs Flipper, but would anyone have comments on Flipper Lodge V Flipper House.  I liked the staff, particulary the gaurds were good value,  nice to the girls.

I'm travelling in Asia in the next few weeks and am trying to fight the urge to get on a plane from Hong Kong and slip down to Pattaya for a few days........ Cheers

Hi Shilo,

I used to get down in the mornings between 10am and noon and the massage girls were already there. As for the evenings, when I got back from prowling, it was usually after midnight and to the best of my recollection the salon was closed by that time.

Don't worry too much about the massage girls, Chrisgng22 is right, there are many better looking girls just outside waiting for you. The massage girls are great for when you're feeling lazy and want to stay in your room but still have a little fun. A bit like calling room service! You know you can get a better meal by going to a restaurant, but sometimes, you just feel like a snack! I think BigDUSA paid less, but when I was there in October, I paid 800 baht, (300 baht for the massage and 500 for the extra service).

I don't know about barfining these girls, maybe someone else does. I personally would have reservations about forming a close relationship with these girls as they are way too close to the hotel for comfort. This could spell the end of your butterflying! :'( :'(

The same applies to the girls working in the beer bars aound the hotel. For short-time, all these girls are great  ;D and are mostly aware that the experience is going to be shortlived, keep them for any longer and you could be in serious trouble if you decide to butterfly right in front of their faces. :-/ :-[ :'(

Hi Flash,

You're excused, you're allowed to be inebriated and pre-occupied with the girl/s of your choice!  ;D

I too would be interested in the comparison between the Flipper Lodge and the Flipper House, so if anyone has stayed in both, post your comparisons!

Hey Flash,

Are you the same Flash I was supposed to meet back on October 4th??

My username used to be Carl (here on FLB and on Nanapong).

If you are, I phoned your number and left a message on your voice mail but no response. If you reply in the affirmative, then I'll give you a call.

I'm travelling in Asia in the next few weeks and am trying to fight the urge to get on a plane from Hong Kong and slip down to Pattaya for a few days........

What???!!! Are you crazy?? Don't resist, take the detour to Pattaya!!

Yep thats me, I dont know how I missed the call as I had the phone on......... and unfortunately stayed in the hotel...... to be honest I ended up being sick as a dog with the flu in Bangkok, but we were both there on the same night, sorry it didn't work out for us to meet.

Could have just been the Eden Club took all my strength and I didn't have enough left to fight off the flu. Did you have that experience?

Maybe we could have a beer one afternoon, assume your still working in in North Sydney, would enjoy hearing about your escapades.  Do you still have my number?

G'day Flash!!

I just checked the mobile and I've still got your number, I'll give you a call in the next day or so. Yes I'm still working in North Sydney, the project I'm currently contracted for is expected to last a couple of years now as we've going to go global with our product.

I called your number on checking in at the Landmark on October 4th but got your voice mail. I called again the next day before going off to Pattaya and left a message. (I remember that your voice mail repeated the same message twice before I could leave my message).

The Eden Club is fantastic!  ;D ;D Flu or no flu, after a visit there, you will definitely be all sapped of all strength! I just read on the Eden forum that they have a new record, an Irishman celebrating his birthday took 20 girls!! I hope he's still alive! ;) :o :o

In room massage opens at 10 AM and closes at 8PM. I pay 300 for the massage and 500 for full service. The girls are no hassle as far as you taking other girls in. They understand their position at the hotel.

I would not bar fine a girl from the same soi  ??? my hotel is on. I did that once and wil never do it again. 11 days until I get to experience my favorite in room massage girl, URAI at the Flipper Lodge. I've taken her out to dinner and gone drinking with her and her friends. All her friends are looking for b/f ;D Had a great time with the girls.
