Are you talking about the walkway beside Pattaya "beach"?

The one that the deck chair operators were complaining about in the press last week that has holes big enough to hide 10 people? Will dig up the article when I am near my computer rather than tablet.

Thank you plahgat for the images. Much easier to paint a mental picture with that sort of help.

This is the article I was referring to, a sample of quality journalism from the Pattaya "press". http://www.pattayamail.com/localnews/pattaya-beach-footpath-washing-away-47273

From that article, "He urged the city to tackle the problem, as the problem will only get worse once rainy season sets in. "

Every time the city "tackles" the problem, it leads to a year of substandard construction delays and money in their pockets along with the winning contractor.

They love to tackle this problem every couple of years.

Thank you plahgat for those great pictures. They really show that beach and walkway with areas that could be a nasty fall for someone who is walking around there at night or a little bit drunk

I thought crossing the road was quite dangerous at times, but that walkway could really ruin somebodys night :o

Beach is same as it's always been.

Actually not, been many 'improvements' over the years.

Raw sewage used to flow down it.

Maybe for "newbies" such as yourself ! Certainly not for any "ancient mariners" or pioneers! :P

A walk down the beach today and saw

A small memorial to the beach

Pilling ready for what near Thai Air Office

And more construction at bottom of Soi 6

Could it be for underground pumps ?

They are tarting up Jomtien beach.

At the moment it gets busy at weekends and is packed on special weekends. I've heard the plans do away completely with the areas currently used for parking.

That's gonna be fun.
