**NEW TV SERIES BASED IN THAILAND** (UK Television Company)

Recommended Posts

I hope you don't mind us posting on your forum. Curve Media, a television company based in London (UK) is currently producing an exciting new series for one of the UK’s major broadcasters, all about tourism and expats living in Thailand. We will be focusing our filming in the areas of Bangkok, Phuketand Pattayaover December and January.

By way of background, Curve Media is an independent television production company (partly owned by BBC Worldwide) that specialises in producing high quality factual programming for both terrestrial and digital channels in the UK and internationally. Productions include Vicky McClure: My Dementia Choir (BBC One), Paradise Hunters (Channel 4), 999: On The Front Line (Channel 4), Trauma Doctors (Channel 5), Salvage Hunters (Discovery Networks) and My Extraordinary Pregnancy (TLC).

Our series will follow the story of a select number of British expats, who are now living in Thailand and specifically, in the three locations our camera crews will be based in, as well as a number of tourists who will be holidaying over December and January.

We would like to be able to represent the excitement of holidaymakers exploring the country alongside those who have chosen to make Thailand their home and are now living and working there. We would see Brits running a range of exciting businesses in Thailand, including bars, hotels, clubs and restaurants to name a few. Does the dream live up to the reality? What makes Thailand such a special place? We hope to meet some fantastic characters who are able to let us in to their world to catch a glimpse of what life is like living, working and holidaying in Thailand.

If you feel you may be interested in talking to us about our production, or be able to help us in our search for fabulous expats, we would be delighted to hear from you and would very much appreciate your assistance.

Please email casting@curvemedia.comfor further details or call 0044 203 179 0099 quoting ‘THAILAND’ for a no obligation chat.

Thanks so much for your time and we look forward to hearing from you.

Let's just hope it's not going to be a load of the usual claptrap and feminist bullshit you media people especially women and those in the BBC often come out with whenever the subject of Thailand is the topic.

If you encounter a degree of reluctance among ex pats and regular visitors to get involved that will be one of the two main reasons why. The other main reason should only be too obvious.

Well those Beebsters in the corridors of power at Broadcasting House will still be too busy bumping into things with their eyes being so tightly shut (lest they see any in-house paedos)

bloody hell. This is going to be popular.

Can't see why anyone would want to be overtly filmed in Pattaya, especially a tourist.

They might get something from the Expats regarding everyday life, what brought them there and how they manage day to day, but as far as the scene goes, I can't think of any good reason why someone might want to be exposed on national TV.

"Fabulous expats"? Oxymoron. Shurely shome mishtake.... (I'm seeing Kenny Everett :clap2 )

Not sure any BM would describe themselves in that manner, but there is a bloke who started a thread called "Hello" that you could send a private message to.

Most folks are already starring in an "exciting series" and "no obligation chat" is a daily occurrence.....

Good luck!

TBH

You only have to understand what gets these people the ratings they so crave.

And it isn't achieved by following the lifestyle of Gerald and Daphne who resettled in Thailand to make a small living, breeding budgerigars and helping local orphans

Its achieved by salaciousness and quasi-titillation.

The barometer would be how many Johnny Wagepakets slurp their elevenses while exclaiming 'Did you see that cooont on telly last night pissed as a fart 24/7 with his twelve-year-old Thai wife...the barstard. Get on it next week more brasses than a Cleckheaton Shire horse convention"

A television show about tourism and expats in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket made by a company partly owned by the BBC? This will only go one way. As they say in one of their other popular shows - "I'm out."

Absolutely; I have no doubt that this will not be pitched as "a come to Thailand and retire gracefully" series. Sorry for the double negative, but the BBC and reasonable journalism are a rare combination these days.

You only have to look at the amount of bias they put on the "question time" panel and cherry picked questions from the "audience" to see how impartial and fair the BBC, or indeed anyone connected to them are. given that the BBC have a 25% stake in Curve, you can draw your own conclusions.

Like anything, sensationalism and titillating subjects will always attract viewers. Be comforted in the fact that anything said in an "interview" will be edited to make it more salacious or biased towards their own agenda, along with splicing and editing footage to paint you in the worst possible light.

Anyone remember the "Big trouble in Thailand" series? (it's on youtube). As we all know Pattaya, just have a look at that (and the special guest apperance by Moulee) to see what kind of editing goes on. Anyone painting Howard Miller and the volunteer police (not the regular Police who are brilliant, honest, seadfast and true) in a good light really needs to have their head looked at.

Totally agree. Is that fat grassing cunt Howard still knocking about? Despicable man, grassing his fellow countrymen up to the authorites so he could make a name for himself.

Only seen him at the Beach Road end of WS and that is as close as I want to get.

He seemed pleasant enough when you talked to him.

Last I heard he seemed to suddenly up sticks and leave taking family with him.

Seemed odd as he was getting involved in bar ownership just prior.

I miss the daily News reports we got on Sophon TV, one might almost believe drive by bag snatching and katoey muggings are a thing of the past.

The beeb has quotas for lesbians, gays, transgender, bisexual, female, black or disabled for 2020......

There's even a quota for female comedians......God help us.

With regards to this series, if it's the BBC it will be infected with dangerous feminist ideology and outright misandry. The editors will have a field day and anyone taking part needs their head examined.

The producers will already have the last lines of the last programme written and they will ensure that the series leads directly to them.

55555.

'mea culpa'

You're right feminism isn't something we should make fun of........The BBC won't in this series. I mean having changed Dr Who into a woman......They won't go back in time!!!!

This coming series will point a finger at the failings of toxic masculinity and alert us to the dastardly victimisation of helpless women by old white men....(any Muslims or Indians in walking Street will be air-brushed out...They don't want to start a jihad).

Feminism needs serious consideration and who better to do that than.........
