The rate of progress doesn't seem to have sped up. Shame, as it's a great opportunity to do so in the current environment.

Won't be long now before the north end of Beach Rd is concreted over, and hopefully the last bits of drains connected.

I guess this was before the rain yesterday?

Had a horrendous amount where I live North of town, likely 5cm+.If they received similar out by the lake there should be substantial improvement.

Recent rains have had no positive effect on the reservoir level. It'll take at least a day of heavy, constant monsoon rains to begin to refill the reservoir.

North end of Beach Rd was blocked for a short time this morning while they did a bit of tree trimming.

I had speculated they would pour a single concrete cap that would cover the entire catch basin. Looks like I was wrong and they're doing it in two sections.

Whenever you're looking for a bit of 'normality' in these crazy times, this thread certainly is it lol. How long ago was it meant to be finished.

Amazing Thailand!

Amazing Thailand!

Think it was supposed to be finished by February 13th, what year jokes aside. I can understand the delay though with the amount of tourists and traffic in Pattaya now. Hard to finish a roadworks project in this environment, at least for the Thais. :whistling:

Yes, when you need a 'reality check' for Thailand in these crazy times, these 'works' are it lol

It'll be a nuisance, but we can't say it doesn't need doing.  Just ban the coaches and one lane is plenty.  ?

Would you please include in that banning the parking of rental bikes for rent.   The don't need to take up 60% of Beach Road.

North end terminus of the Beach Rd drain had a small volume of water coming in. Not sure where it was coming from, but what it did highlight is how plugged up the drains currently are. For the small amount of water coming in it should barely cover the bottom of the basin before draining away, not fill the basin 3/4 full of water.

Next open basin the water was barely moving. I wonder how far down the drain the construction debris extends, and to what depth.

Excellent.

The trees are looking bushier aswell.

I'd like to think that one day the wooden benches around the trees will return..If not, at least the return of the small wall running the length of Beach road...

Oh YES you have to be very specific in contract negotiations and RFQs in Asia and Africa..I've been through quite a few... but the worst country I have worked in (and quit) was USA.

How to walk

"Whilst working on any of our sites, or any other site, any where on this planet, or one that we may inhabit in the future, you must walk one step at a time (Only for functional biped humanoids - for  all other non discriminatory alternatives please read addendums to the contract). After each step it is your contractual responsibility to observe a 360 deg area that all contractual Health and Safety regulations (not limited to this planet but includes all planets or interspacial working platforms) are being adhered to.  When all observations have been confirmed by a group of independant advisors that equal opportunities groups have agreed that the movement of the travelling leg ( See contractual definitions) whilst not being the standing leg but has intentions of being the standing leg does not infer any superiority, nor gain superiority once it becomes the standing leg."

I really am pleasantly surprised!

We had a total shitfest with flooding after Sunday's downpour...We even had some during the night...but it doesn't seem that adversely effected...

Noticed on another board a pic of the curb laying where it looked like they had stopped using concrete for the bed and were placing the blocks directly on the sand. My curiosity piqued I went out this morning to snap a few pics of the current work. Turns out they still are putting a layer of concrete down first. But now the question is, is concrete like hair gel, a little dab'll do ya.
