The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has approved six categories of foreigners who may enter Thailand:

(1) foreign athletes who will participate in the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's Cup Tour of Thailand 2020 on 6-16 October 2020,
(2) pilots and cabin crew of Thai Airways on repatriation flights,
(3) foreigners who have non-immigrant visas, especially businesspersons who do not have a work permit (they must present bank statements for the six previous months),
(4) long-stay tourists who have a special tourist visa,
(5) APEC cardholders from low-risk countries, for example, New Zealand, Australia, and Singapore, and
(6) non-Thai nationals who wish to stay in Thailand for 60 days (they can extend their period for an extra 30 days by presenting six previous months of bank statements, equivalent to at least 500,000 baht).

Anyone who wishes to enter Thailand should kindly contact the Thai embassy in their country for more details.

There is no indication of any relaxation of the quarantine, but at least it's a start. Good news for folks in New Zealand, Australia and Singapore.

I'm second in line behind Teelak when it comes to Kiwis.  But I doubt it will be happening for at least 6 months maybe more.

I saw another story about a plane load of Chinese tourists coming to Thailand in early October.

From what I understand, they will go to Phuket. They will have to do the 14 day quarantine and have the insurance. They will have longer visas. It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

STV from what I hear, they can stay 90 days straight and potentially extend for a further 180. With that duration of stay, get the flights in organized and soon fill the place up. Hope it is just Phuket, but of course after quarantine they can go anywhere.

Yep.. things are looking great. They have obtained all the required tests and documentation. Applied, arranged a charter flight, 9 months accommodation ..All within a day or so ..... All of the Thai organisations involved should be congratulated ... It worked like a well greased machine ..

I will go even further and say I expect casinos to be legalised on Phuket in the near future .....

I see your logic.......and casinos would guarantee a Chinese invasion of tourists.

Some places could be converted quite quickly. In conversations a while back some guys were suggesting that places in Pattaya like Royal Cliff and The Ambassador could be up and running as casinos fairly quickly. I guess there are similar places in Phuket

Only the beaches and national parks are staying closed.

Beaches have been open for months. Sure most National parks are open. There may be the odd one that is closed.

Correct. I went to a National Park a few weeks ago. I don't think there is wide spread national park closures.

Having said that, I know in the past, Koh Phi Phi Lei was closed to let the reefs heal. This was from before Covid and is probably still going on.
