Thanks All

If no news can anyone recommend a hotel between 600 & 700 bht per night. I am not too keen on soi 7 an 8 just too noisy for me. Was considering Palm Villa but would prefer soi 4 where it is away from the bars.

I've stayed there 4 times within the past year and have posted the only reviews of the place in the hotel review section. I have 2 of there business cards and I noticed that each one has a different email address.

1. mikebeachresort@hotmail.com

2. resort@mikepattaya.com

The longer your stay at their hotel it seems the better the rate you will receive.

The first stage of their sister hotel down the soi opened earlier this year while the 2nd stage should be completed early 05.

The Marine Yensabai Mansion on Soi Yensabai is a nice hotel @ 700 a night, only negative is they don't have a pool.

Check out www.skytoppattaya.com Good location on 2nd Road near soi 6. Excellent price for room with AC, fridge, TV. Rate is 450 and up.

ROLAND suggested I recommend Alex to pick you up at the airport. Thanks ROLAND, I didn't think of that. From now on I'll think of you as my auxiliary pimp. :nod

What a surprise, BigD pimping his hotel again but I'm shocked you haven't suggested that Alex pick him up at the airport too :o

Stayed at Mike Beach Resort for a few days early July. Generally fine, but the bathrooms were somewhat worn (maybe that was just mine). Otherwise, rooms were good, clean, reasonably large, well lit. Girl friendly.

Location is quiet. You also could consider Bella Villa Prima just up the soy. It's somewhat newer (but was besieged by Korean tourist groups when I was in town).

Emil:

I must be totally blind, where was the new hotel they are building? I saw the place across the road (just beach side of BellaVillaPrima) but didn't think anything was open. There's so much construction going on, I just ignore anything that doesn't cause me loss of sleep.

About midway between Mike's Beach Resort and the Bella Villa Prima they opened Mike's Orchard around Feb of this year. Soon after they began construction on the property between Mike's Orchard and the Bella Villa to expand Mike's Orchard.

Also in that area next to the Charming Inn on Beach Rd, they were working on a building that had stood uncompleted and and looks like it will be another hotel when finished. On the other side of the Charming on Soi 3 they had begun construction in May of what appears to be another hotel or apartment.

That's Mike Orchid, not Orchard. Looks like a nice place. The Mike Beach Resort is an up-dated and modernized version of the old "U" Hotel which was poorly run by the owner, a real ass-hole of a Japanese guy. I stayed there for several trips until his manager moved on and the owner decided he could manage it and save the salary of a manager. Nearly came to blows with that guy. Was glad to hear he lost the hotel and the Mike people bought it. They really did a good job with the renovation, but it sounde like the bathrooms didn't have much done. Good sized rooms and a great location. Last I heard they were getting 600 Baht. I think a good buy. Ah yes, great memories of staying there, until the manager moved on.....

Hello All,

My last 2 trips I have stayed at Mike's Orchid for 800b / daily. I like the place and the price is right, The rooms are all the same in terms of layout. 1-single bed and 1-double bed. 20" TV with remote, and fridge.

The ladies at the reception area are efficent and friendly and respond in a quick manner if you have a problem with your room.

What has not been said is that when you leave your room, downstairs in the reception area they have a power switch to turn off the power to your room when you are gone.

Also, unless you catch the maid in the morning - your room may not get done until late afternoon.

If you are the type who has a primary TG who stays with you and you decide that you what to sample a few more ladies in your room, the eyes and ears of the entire statff at the hotel will keep your primary TG informed of your actions.

How do I know this, My TG told me that the staff would tell her when I left and in what direction I went and how long I was gone. This includes security which is on duty 24/7 unless they are sleeping.

Those innocent conversations that the staff engage you in Hello, where you go now, have a nice day. It's not that they want to talk with you, they are gathering Intel on you and your creature habits.

Other than that I like the hotel, the staff, the location - (quiet). But I fear that in very short time their prices will double. Their sister hotel Mike's Resort is charging 1200b a nite. That is what I was quoted when I did a walk up for info.

Last but not least, Their e-mail address does not work, comes back as an error.

As for Charming Inn - The place is a dump, water damage carpets, mildew on walls
