A quick Q, if someone can provide an answer before 4.30pm! (I'll check back here later) I'm looking for a bar that will be screening the 3rd and series deciding Rugby League state of Origin match this afternoon. A check of the archives showed this question was asked a month ago, but no confirmation on the suggested venues, which were - Misty's -Aussie Bar, Walking St Any advances on those, or confirmation that one of them *did* have it on? I noticed that Far East Rock regularly screen the Aussie Rules matches, but when I called in a while ago, they couldn't confirm if their

Thanks Pete, No arguments from me about the necessity for Board security, just the problem of inconsistency and occasionally getting locked in a "loop". Curiously, when I received my email notification of your message above, I clicked the URL and went straight into the forum! Although I guess this is part of the non-members or "open" section. It stopped me when I attempted to reply, and I had to log in at that point, again no problems with this. For reference I still use IE5.0. Anyway, far more important things are calling - like my flight to BKK on Weds! ;D Hope to d

G'day, Maybe it's "operator error" , but I don't seem to have these problems with other private boards like Nanapong and Go2Phil, so I thought I'd at least bring them to the attention of the illustrious Moderator :) (i) Email notification of tagged thread. When I click on the URL supplied by the email, I get "You are not allowed to access this section". Fair enough, you need to log in, but on other Boards the URL takes you straight to the log in screen, then to your tagged message. On this one, if I then click on the "Log In" link, I still get the error message. Once this occurs, i

Profile Updating / Personal Photo

Thanks for that Pete. On my initial attempt I followed your procedure to the letter, but it just wouldn't work. I actually intended to use a different ID photo (James_Bond_Is_2.jpg). I tried to change it, plus add my own text message, but all I get is "Error. You are not allowed to change this person's profile." So I think I'll quit while I'm ahead. ::) Cheers Croc -

One more techno glitch - I'll use this as a test message to see if my Profile update actually worked, but I suspect not. If you update it, do your previous posted messages then show the new profile as well, or only the new ones? Anyway I've mastered loading photos to the Members Gallery (yes!), but can't seem to link the ID photo to the profile and make it stick. Any ideas? I'm using Win 98 and IE 5.0. Cheers, Croc

My sample idiot newbie question, on the basis that we're all allowed at least one. ;D On one of the Newbie Board posts, someone provided a link to a member's "prices" page - the URL was given as follows http://www.freelancerbar.com/newprotect/me...ces/prices.html When I try this, it brings up the message screen to input my User name and p/word, but this doesn't work, and errors out after 3 tries. But the p/word must work, or I wouldn't be in the Members area to begin with - would I? What am I doing wrong here? Is there a direct link to this page that I've missed somewher

A general question, sort of Hotel related, but I figure it'll get better exposure on this Board. A couple of years back I stayed at the Eastiny in Soi 8 - nice Hotel, but the racket from the all night open air beer bars between Soi's 7 & 8 was a bit punishing, especially about 5am when you actually finally did want to get to sleep! ;D With the closing time crackdown, do these beer bars get shut down as well? Or at least turn their competing music sources off? If so, this may be the only postive aspect of the social order crusade. Just curious! It will have some bearing on
