  1. Come on guys, lets cool it a bit. Some threads are asking for abuse but not this one! TFC is trying to be helpful by telling us his experiences and what he thinks is right! We can all disagree but we can also 'ALL' learn something from eachother. Thanks again TFC and all you guys for input, if TFC is right then I'll be looking for the same deal when I buy! Any more info will be great !!
  2. TFC, Can I ask where in BKK you live? .............and how much do they sell for?? G.
  3. so it is on a lease of 30 years!? Now I'm confused!
  4. Thanks fat controller, so if it's yours forever and something happens to you, will someone inherit it in your will?
  5. Thanks for the helpful info guys. I'm in Patts for a month Sept/Oct and thinking of buying next year. Prob rent first to get the feel of things. See some of you for a beer soon, Thanks!
  6. Hi all, I know us forangs can't buy land so that stops us buying a freehold house (I'm not married to a TG btw), so if we buy a condo what sort of lease do you get? Is it similar to the uk where you get 99 years or so? One more thing.......maintanence? Do you pay it and how much?? Any advice/experiences would be helpful.......Thanks.
  7. For me it's got to be the Thai people. I come from London and everyone seems to be in their own little world, if you try and talk to someone on the bus/tube or try and have a friendly conversation with a girl in a bar they think you are either crazy or trying to rip them off!............and expensive! if you go out for a drink now you'll need to take your credit card........Unbelievable!! Did I mention the weather...........well in the UK it's been raining now for about 40 days and I'm not joking...........no worries I'm in LOS in September!
  8. Thanks Alan, Very informative. In response to the health care issue, surely they can not stop treating for an illness if you are still coughing up! (xcuse the pun) tax in the UK?
  9. Can someone tell me the rules on paying tax in the UK if you live in LOS? For example if you have savings in a bank or let out your house can you get the interest gross if you live in LOS. Are there rules on how many days you can stay in the UK in any 1 year?
