Already have both programs and ran them, found alot of stuff on spybot. Any other suggestions?

I have done a disk clean up and defrag etc., computer is running much better including the windows 2003 program. What I am getting now is a window that keeps popping up and when I click on enable protection (it wont allow me to do anything else), it sends me to a site that has software for me to buy.

I am using Windows home XP

I have a laptop and recently have been having problems with my microsoft documents. When copying and pasting or just trying to open up them it has been slow, and when I try to close one, I get "this program not responding". Also I cannot burn CD's anymore. Otherwise it runs OK on navigating other stuff. Any comments or suggestions welcome.
