  1. I'm coming to Pattaya in 2 weeks time. Is there a bar featuring live Irish music at the moment? There used to be live music at either Kilkennys or Molly Malones on Walking Street, but maybe no longer so? It seems strange that given the number of so called Irish bars, there doesnt seem to be any live music. Any help greatly appreciated.
  2. My trip arriving 3rd December now definitely cancelled. Now returning in January when hopefully £ will buy me more of everything. Surely they will sort it all out before Christmas? Would the King ever get involved? As I understand it all he has to say to PAD is "leave the airport" and they would be out in 5 minutes.
  3. Brunos is now at 306/63 Chateau Dale Plaza, Thappraya Road, Pattaya. A bit of a trek but well worth it. Very smart, great food and no more expensive than the "up market " places in the middle of Pattaya. I have been going to Brunos for over 10 years and it never disappoints. Try the beef carpaccio to start or main course duck, if you like that sort of thing. About a 10 min drive from Walking Street.
  4. Many thanks to all who posted. Quality as always. Sorry it caused more aggravation in some quarters than I expected!
  5. Great steak (Australian I think) at Brunos. IMHO the best restaurant in Pattaya. But it doesnt come cheap. Havent yet tried Manhattans or some other places that are springing up on (or relocating to) Thappayra Road. Any reports please?
  6. I know this seems like a daft topic, but I wondered which were the best and most aunthentic Thai restaurants in Pattaya. I know a lot of the English bars provide Thai food, but it's pretty standard stuff and of average quality. Would be interested to know as the feedback on this site is always quality!
  7. Thank you both very much for such detailed replies. If those are representitive of the quality of this site then I am really impressed. From previous visits I know that this was a good alternative way to relax. The leading team at the Pig and Whistle were named Four Horesmen of the Apocalypse, whose star performer was "the Old Bugger" - no idea how he got that name! Thank you for taking the time. I will definitely sample them on my next visit!
  8. Does anyone have any information on these please? When I was in Pattaya a few years ago there seemed to be a lot of quiz activity, but on my last visit it was not so prevelant. The 2 quiz nights that I went to (one was at the Pig and Whistle) seemed to have ended. I know that as an activity quizzing is a bit mundane given the other pastimes available but it can be a welcome change sometimes!
