  1. lovedog100, its not just that it can be hard to cash them (most hotels and banks will do this) its that they charge a huge commission. 8-10% is common. I remember on fields ave about eight months ago money changers were quoting 31 pesos to the aussie dollar while TC were 26. I didnt cash mine, just hung on to them and used cash.

Don't know what you are referring too mate. Was in town in Feb/Mar 2010 the only commission charged was a 30 Baht commission/admin charge per transaction. Further to the above my TC's were getting a half a point more than cash. To the original poster, no worries bring Amex TC's.

  2. So I'm stalking hot TGs enjoying a quiet walk through Central Festival Mall when, for some reason, I'm suddenly struck by the urge for an ice cream :D

Note the loving attention and quiet concentration as she applies to the cream on top :D :D

So how much...........for the ice cream?

  3. No problem mate, don't bother lining up in immigration, just walk right feekin through, never know you might make it as far as the luggage carousel before the authories put you in handcuffs. :D

Just kidding, as previously suggested many factors will affect your chances.

  4. Pen, I stayed at the Seaside last Nov/Dec. price is good, staff bend over backwards to accomodate you and the location was good for me, a short walk to Beach Road for a baht bus to W/S, Soi 7 & 8, and you can easily walk to Soi 6, depending of course on your particular activities. If you are travelling the other way, the baht bus on 2nd Road will drop you off at the top of Soi 3 and leave you with a 5 min walk to the guesthouse. The only drawback I found with the Seaside is the height of the ceiling in the stairwells. I have not stayed at the Sunview, so I cannot comment. Good Luck

  5. I stayed at the Metro Apts last November, well run and a good location, Dennis the owner is pretty much on top of thing, any problems and he addresses them promptly. Please note it is hard to get a booking here as many client book well in advance. Good luck, for more information goggle their website.
