  1. True, this board is about Thailand. But, on the other hand, he is just asking for advise from his fellow travelers. Europe is expensive. Less expensive Wester european country is Spain, out of the cities. Eastern Europe is easier on the pocketbook. Good travels
  2. I've seen many men of color enjoyiing themselves in Pattaya. Do the Thai's discriminate based upon the color of skin? Of course... and they are hardest upon their own with darker skin. But in the end, as long as you are a nice guy, you will have a great time. Have a great trip.
  3. Only one other consideration? Do you have any pets???? smile
  4. the positives are good location and great service. There are two draw backs. The noise from the Soi 8 bars sometime goes until 7 a.m. If you need quite to sleep this may be a bit disconcerting. The restruant and the food served is a bit lame. You may find their attempts at Western style food wanting. Rooms are clean, basic but not worn or tattered. I would stay there again.
  5. Not exactly a bar but a visit to the the disco, Xcite after 2100 will knock your socks off. Tucked away in the backwaters of Pattaya, this is a world class disco... well worth visiting.
  6. I read that the Marriott is not guess friendly... charging 800 bhat for joiner's fee. Has anyone stayed at the Marriot and had good expierences with guests?
  7. Okay, I've spent enough time in "one night cheap hotels and sawdust restraunts with oyster shells." Where 4,000 TB ($100 UDS) get you a modest room in the US, one can live quite comfortably in Thailand. So I figure if I am going to fly half way around the world, why not treat myself (and my company) to a bit of comfort. I am looking for accomodations which meet three criteria. 1 They must be guest friendly. 2 Near the action in South Pattaya and have exceptionally good rooms. Any suggestions?
