Having stayed there in August this year I can tell you that the larger pool refurbishment started on 1st September ... Most of the heavy construction on the new development is now complete and it is mainly now only undergoing 'finishing ' work - between 8 am and 5 pm so is not so noisy ... Areca Lodge's usual friendly service is largely undiminished ( still good ) as a result of these ongoing changes. I wouldn't be put off by them ...although it seems that it is still popular to the point of being full already with advance bookings beyond the New Year ...so maybe it won't be e
