Anyone have any experiences with a good hotel in Jomtien beach? Something comparable to the sunshine or flipper in pattaya. Guest friendly & near the beach?? Thanks

I heard from another message board that on the 5th of December alot of bars in bangkok will be closed and such. I was wondering if I will be able to still catch the bus from Ekami down to Pattaya on the 5th and what will be affected from the King's birthday?? Thanks
