I have an ATM question... I use my VISA card as an ATM as in my country the VISA is directly linked into my checking account (unlike the US). So should my VISA be ok?

Kudos on going after the 9, I don't think I have the nerve approaching girls on the street, I keep feeling that they might not be BGs and I'll be making a fool of myself, I guess I'm just too timid (hence nick), but I plan to work on that at Pattaya during Jan 14th through February.

Trying to make a reservation at RG, I was asked for a CC, I replied saying I prefer not to give my CC over eMail and got this reply: "As we have so many NO SHOWS from the FLB site, we must insist on a deposit." Now, I'm not angry or anything, I think this just casts badly on us visitors... If you make a reservation, either show up or mail saying you're not coming...

Yes, I'm up for meeting folks, I think it's nicer/safer hunting in packs I'm going to try the Residence Garden for 2 days on arrival and then do the walk-around to find a cheaper hotel while I'm there.

I'm arriving in Pattaya on January 14th. I'm trying to get a room between 400-600bt/day if possible but will go upto 800 if I can get a nicer location/deal. I tried eMailing a few of the hotels (Apex/Flipper/Sawadee), apex and flipper mailed me back they're full, didn't get a reply from sawadee. I've seen some of the generic online booking sites, but I'm somewhat reluctant to use them as I don't really like giving my CC out online. Any ideas? Or should I just do the walk-in live and in person and hope for the best?
