  1. Thank you for your suggestion. Especially the google map photo
  2. I have a few shirts and pants I would like to have altered. I know there are places all around town, but I have had mixed results in the past. I would appreciate any recommendations. I am staying near Soi 1 Beach rd. but can travel if necessary thanks in advance
  3. Thanks for the suggestions/recommendations. I am arriving today from Bangkok. So about $2000/small motorbike and $5000 for a large? I actually am bringing my bicycle helmet. I wonder if it is legal to use it with a motorcycle? Much lighter weight and better breathability.
  4. I will be arriving Pattaya in a couple of days. Staying for a month Does anyone have recommends for: 1) bicycle rentals: prefer a hybrid or good quality mountain bike, i.e. Trek etc. 2) motorcycle rental (automatic) Also would appreciate advice on how much to pay. Thanks
  5. Sawasdee krup I will be in Pattaya in a couple of days. I am going to be visiting for up to three weeks. I am looking for the use of a bicycle when I am there. When I was in Pattaya last year I could not find a rental source. I finally was able rent one from the owner of a motorcycle concession on Beach Rd (his personal bike). He mentioned that he was planning to sell the business so I am not optomistic about finding him. Any help would really be appreciated. I really enjoyed my early morning rides. Maybe rent/buy someones personal bike. I have a friend who lives in Pattaya for a reference
  6. Thanks for the tips. I would think that the chamber of commerce or city would sponser a detailed map. I sure hope that Pattaya evergency personnel have a good map :) Mike
  7. hello all I am staying here in Pattaya for two weeks. I rented a bike and am doing a bit of exploring in the mornings. Unfortunately the typical tourist map is short on outlying routes above Sukimvet. I found one on a wall at John's restaurant up by the resevoir but apparently it is no longer produced. I'm riding 40 to 50 km in the morning and so far I have no idea where I am (not good if my bike breaks down). Thanks for your help Mike
  8. Hello everyone I am visiting Pattaya and will be here for one more week. I have noticed several shops/studios with artists working inside. Does anyone have any tips on selecting one to create portraits from family pictures? For example, price aside, can I assume that all the artists are equally qualified etc. Thanks in advance Mike A
  9. I agree, great location. One block to the BTS (Nana). I stayed there earlier this year for about three weeks off and on during the room remodel. Rooms are large but qualitly is hit and miss. On upper floors the water pressure can be very bad (@1/2 hour to fill bath. Can't shower because there is no water pressure) Paid @1000bt. Guest friendly (no id taken). They charge @100bt/night for additional guest if paid upfront. I didn't pay the extra but nothing was ever said when I brought a guest except one time when I was charged 4 or 500bt. I would only stay there again if I could not stay at Majes
