Thanks, all. I'm sure it will all make sense when I hit the ground. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk -

What could possibly go wrong!? Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk -
I will be staying at Sutus Court (Soi Buakhao) in September. It looks like about a 20 minute walk to/from Walking Street from the hotel. This is fine when solo, but I can't imagine dragging my catch-o-the-night back for a 20 minute walk to the hotel. How does one navigate Baht buses from Walking street (or Soi 6) to Sutus Court? My last trip was years ago and I stayed at Residence Garden. Once I left the hotel I never ventured far from Beach Rd / Second Street. (It was plenty easy to navigate using baht buses... Beach road goes one direction, Second road goes the other.) Is it just that

I enjoyed my stay at the RG. Without having experience to fall back on, and knowing that I didn't want to spend my vacation in a potential rat-hole, I booked the RG over the internet using the link at the top of this page. I had sent emails to a couple of other establishments, but Ib was the only one to return my email with a room available for my entire stay. When I was at the RG in late August/Early September, I was paying 150bt per day for access. Even with 802.11 built into my laptop, the hotel supplied a USB thumb network card to use. (They block out all MAC addresses except for the ones in the NIC's that they issue.) Along with the NIC, they gave out a CD for the drivers, and fairly accurate instructions on how to install them. I don't recall if the CD and instructions that they passed out included support for Mac systems. I checked in on a Saturday, and had intermittent problems all weekend. I think all that needed to be done wa -
Travellers cheque charges
maj_a_hole replied to hawkeyes's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I don't recall the service charge, but I did notice a major difference between cashing them at the hotel, and cashing them at the bank in the Royal Garden Plaza. Between the exchange rate (41 vs. 38) and the service fee vs. per check fee, when cashing in $300 (USD) at the hotel I was getting about 1000Bt less than when cashing at the bank. Lesson learned: Only cash TC's at the hotel in case of emergency!
