Raven, I love Thailand as much as anyone, but when it comes to cost of living and girl chasing, you'll find the Philippines a lot cheaper. Hotels and food are about the same price, but the entertainment can be about half the costs. More importantly, even for a proposed hermit like yourself, you'll find your US dollars worth 30% more in PI. That's a significant difference for someone on a tight budget. Do take your trip and explore, but consider both countries before settling down into a year lease anywhere.
