Buying eye glasses in Pattaya

Anyone have any experience with this?

 

I just got a new prescription and am thinking of getting glasses over in LOS- any feedback, experience or pointers appreciated.

I just bought some specs for my lady in Rayong though I live in Pattaya and I would imagine same applies.

 

Firstly I expect it depends on the nature of some prescriptions as to how much the lenses cost but in this modern apparently chain store in Rayong in big C the deal was e.g. 100% titanium frames 2000bht + lenses 800bht. Plenty of designer frames around 3000bht plus 800 bht for lenses, plenty of package deals from 899bht to 1399bht including lenses.

 

I bought a 1399 package for the lady had the arms that are a little bit sprung if you push them outwards (I believe a sign of quality), look good and designery.

 

Eye test free.

 

No ripoff all prices clearly marked.

Telac and I went to one 3,000B for her test and glasses the whole thing took an hour and a half.. good quality glasses....pretty close to Com City but across the street and down towards 2nd road just a bit

yes she does, also get a free 2nd opinion at a top charoen for free, just get the girl to write down the numbers.

 

ok heres the trick, go to the tuesday friday market at soi buakhao, and get a pair of sunglasses that will take pop in lens's or screw in ones(with holes) pay 100bt for the glasses, and 400 for the prescription lens's installed.

 

to be safe also buy a second pair of exact sunglasses, in case the frame breaks.

 

I have 4 pairs of good prescription glasses.

Good suggestion. I am looking for some prescription sunglasses whilst I am in Pattaya. Did you get polariod sunglasses? Do you have contact name an number in Pattaya who speaks good english that I can call to discuss my requirements.

 

I have a couple of idential wrap around sunglasses whish I could use but not sure if they are able to get lense to fit.

 

Appreciate any contact details.
