Party Wednesday Night 18 July at Shooters!

Hey, guys! We will be having a party Wednesday night, July 18, to celebrate the birthday of our mamasang, Waow, and also as a send-off (or maybe good riddance for some of you) for yours truly, who leaves Thursday night late to return to the Land of Scowls. We will have free BobsBBQ, a pig, free Thai food, drink specials, and some good fun. Party starts at 8:00PM. Come on over, hang with your friends, nosh on some free food, and party to some great music at Shooters! See you there!

It was another fantastic night at Shooters, as mamasang Waow celebrated another year. Here are the pics:

Looks like a decent time was had. Nice to see Fon is still lovely looking. Her pictures never really do her justice though.

 

But....

 

Why a farewell to Bruce already? I thought you just bought/opened a bar! Now you're off again to Farang-Land? Did all those silly bar-fine policies of your's get you ousted by your co-owners? LOL

She is one of my all-time faves. You are right, like many of the girls she seldom photographs to do her justice.

Hardly. They constantly and continuously expressed their solidarity with me while those threads were going on, and other owners came into Shooters to express their agreement and support as well. It's is really too bad that bar owners have to feel that their opinions must be throttled lest people boycott their establishments just because they don't agree with the owner's opinions.

 

I am still very much an integral part of Shooters, my friend. I came back to the US for two reasons. My dad's 80th birthday was the 11th of this month; we are celebrating it today because this is the first chance my daughter has had to return from her summer internship at a law firm in Boston (she goes to BC Law). Then, after visiting family and friends for a week or so, I have engineering jobs in the US, Mexico and England. I bought into the bar, but I did not give up my engineering business, and my partners graciously agreed to let my engineering business spirit me away from time to time.

 

In my absence, the bar will be ably manned by my good friends Manfred (Sunny Valentine), Bob (BobsBBQ) and occasionally by Bob's partner Sam (pictured above). Shooters will still be the same great place as when I am there, except that it might be a bit bloated because it is missing its asshole!
