  1. Back in October '07. I was at Mike's Shopping Plaza, the big one between 2nd and Beach Rd., watched as a couple of the boys in brown supervise the removal of a pick-up truck load of counterfeit purses and handbags.
  2. No, I drink maybe two Heineken an hour, so that price would be a little step for me. And I didn't know about the all inclusive "bar fine and fee" situation there either. If the prices are set and collected by the house, and the girls are not free to negotiate their own deal, than that sinks.
  3. It's my understanding that a new trend is starting in some of the AC bars. Drinks sold by the hour. Now I don't know Angeles City, although I will be making my first trip there this year. However, I have read on a couple of forum sites that bars in the Barretto area ( Xanadoo for one) are using a 100 Peso per hour drink policy. The 100 pesos per hour is hard to relate how it could or would work in Thailand. 100 pesos = 2.458 USD = 78.6 baht per hour ??? However, in AC a bottle of beer "San Miguel Lite" cost 18 pesos, So about six beers per hour. At that rate it would be som
  4. I see that the USD has dropped to 31.99 baht exchange rate. If I remimber correctly, it was about 37 or 36.5 when I was there last Sept/October. And about 35 when I was there in Feb/ March of this year. Is this the lowest exchange rate you've seen in LOS, Baht to Dollars? Maybe I should ask for me paycheck in Pounds or Euros. The same expenses on this trip, as last year, and thats a difference of about 940 dollars more this time around. (that's not including airfare) I better switch from Johnny Walker to Tiger this next trip.
  5. Why not go head and book with someone like Mr. Toom, and if the driver is not there when you arrive you can always deal with the taxi's on hand. Why through away 600 bath, if you don't need to.
  6. I will be taking a side trip to Phnom Penh during my next visit in September, and I was wondering if they have a High and Low season like Pattaya. I know the weather pattern will be similar, but does the tourism trade match season for season with what we see in Pattaya. Also, for those who are in LOS or have been in the last month, how does this Low season compare to the last couple? More people or less?
  7. I have used Mr. Tooms drivers 4 times, and have never had a problem. They have allways been waiting at the imagration exit as promised. With a smile and my name on a sign. At 1200THB it's a bargan.

    visa runs

Now I'm a bit confused! I will be in Thailand for 21 days in Sept., and then travel over to Phnom Penh for about 10 days to have a look around Cambodia for the first time. I will then return to Bangkok for the last week of my holiday visit. I will receive a standard 30 day visa upon my first entry in Sept., I can get a Cambodian tourist visa on the internet, cost about 25usd and takes 3 days. Now the part I am confused about is the re-entry to Thailand. The 30 day visa will have expired already, so can I just get another 30 day tourist vist, or do I have to get a multiple ent
  9. Just booked Thai Air for my September trip. 1292.00USD or 43,928THB. Las Vegas to Los Angles (non-stop) to Bangkok. Paid 1003.00USD this past March for the same ticket. Also, just booked Air Asia round trip Bankok to Phnom Penh for only 115.00USD, which I thought was an excellent price.
